ELDEN RING

DLC Enemies are like farum Azula enemies on steriods
I know I’m underleveled going through the DLC , but why the hell are the little cleaver dudes taking a 1/3 of my hp with 1 attack ? What the hell is that scaling? I find myself mostly running around trying to get to objectives rather than actually enjoying the gameplay. If I don’t play perfectly, Most things kill me in 3/4 hits.

it's just what the ER "community" wanted don't you know.

everything is Malenia, Blade of Miquella.
Your rune level isn't the issue. You need to collect Scadutree Fragments and use them to upgrade your Scadutree Blessing. That will make a massive impact on your experience.

Is it like dark souls 1 , where they only affect that area ?

It only affects the DLC area, but it affects the whole thing.
No, they're not. This is such an absurd take.
The only enemies that are genuinely annoying are the Hornsent Dancers and the stupid Hornsent Warriors with beast helms.
Everything else gets deleted by parry, stance break, or you can easily run past.

players have to obtain scadutree fragments that help mitigate damage. The more fragments you have the less damage you take. This change is completely idiotic and should have not occurred. It's basically the devs way of appeasing the fabois who want to make the game harder. It isn't harder, it's simply tedious because it takes longer to get things done. It's a tim sink of idiotic proportions...

They both reduce the damage you take, and they increase the damage you deal.

I have very mixed feelings about them. What the devs were trying to do was encourage thorough exploration of areas, rather than zipping from objective to objective. As far as that goes, I don't think they failed per se. There are countless better methods of achieving this however, and there are many obvious issues with the system that make it a drag to deal with. Your blessing level does carry over to NG+ and the fragment locations refresh though, so if you go that route you don't need to agonize over finding the last few hidden fragments since it will be extremely easy to hit level 20 the next time 'round.

?
So what is exactly wrong with it? How many hits you need to tank, 10?
These games played like that forever and DLCs are almost always harder than base game.

Maybe shield would help you.

Don't forget you don't need to kill every enemy.
Especially if you killed them before and looted them already.

Hey Man ! Make the game fun again, frustration.... no fun.... a challenge is fun. You might need to go back to the base game and upgrade a few levels to fit your needs. Then collect some more Scadutree Blessing fragments to up your power and don't forget the Spirit Ash Blessings to upgrade your spirit summons and your horse. They want you to use your spirit summons more , I believe, for that icon shows up more often. There are more things to upgrade your equipment on your journey , as well. :bonfire2:
All Fromsoft DLCs in the history of Earth have always been "balanced" for the best softcapped builds. Why did you expect ER to be different?
Your scadutree blessing might be low I personally use the dragoncrest greatshield tailsman and ritual shield for more defense also get 60 vigor if you have not got to 60 vigor yet also abuse any weapon with high poise damage.

Why are people forced to use shields to be successful in the DLC? This is my biggest complaint about the change from the base game. FS basically screwed anyone who uses a different playstyle to play the game. The changes weren't needed and are completely idiotic imo. They made the game extremely tedious and painfully slow. Everything that made ER great has been erased.

because things were designed like garbage. so the most basic thing to do is block the garbage mechanics and movements.

I did not use a shield in the DLC and I was fine.

But what do we expect from your takes at this point...
