Infinite fall through floor

I was just fighting Promised Consort Radahn, and I summoned this player "Havel the Rock" and everything cut out. I got an achievement for killing some other random boss, the remembrance of Scarlet godess even though I already killed Malenia... But worst of all I keep respawning and falling through the map. Please what can I do to fix this?

you got invaded by a hacker. your savefile is corrupted, if you do not have a manual backup you have to start a new savefile.

Reload manual backup of your save.
You could try restoring game automatic backup.

Go to save folder (users\user\AppData\Roaming\Elden Ring)
rename .sl2 file to something else and change extension of .bak file to .sl2.

edit: actually you just delete .bak part of filename.

Guys I got lucky had to quit the game as in back to desktop then reload it and it fixed itself. Quitting to menu did not work so I thought I was screwed, it was a lvl 165 character too so not a low level.

this hacks can have side effects, like loot system no longer works correct (you do not get the loot you expect from bosses), bosses die if you reach the spawnboarders.
just play a while and check if such things happen or not, if not you could be lucky and you encountered not one that doom your save to trash.

As niche as this name is, I actually helped out another host w/ “Havel the Rock” today at PCR. He’s not a hacker, what happened was an invader showed up and caused chaos.

You will have to use a backup, or use Cheat Engine to fix your situation. At worst you will have to delete said character

Havel wasn't the hacker. Havel was also with me and the host at this time. havel is the second player. the chinese user at the bottom left is the hacker.

Make a habit of manually backing up your saves before you start a session every now and then. Literally, copy and drag the save to another folder, ready to replace a corrupted save if the unfortunate happens.

**** you're right whenever I teleport to areas I'm getting random loot from various bosses/mini-bosses, so is my save cooked for good right now?

What if I started ng+? would that revert things back to default. F**K! I really like this character too...

Ah I gotcha my bad, I take back my implied blame on Havel TR. Man I didn't even realise I got invaded, why would someone want to screw my game up though? What do they gain?

Yeah my bad I redact all shade on Havel's good name, can't believe this though, I never had any trouble with this game ever til now.

I think I spoke too soon I did this but it seems my save is infected with scarlet rot right now. I'm getting loot every time I fast travel. Thanks for the advice though it's a thing I will do from now on.

Unfortunately you had to learn the hard way that you need to make manual backup copies of your save file. This applies to any game that overwrites the same save file. That's hundreds or even thousands of hours on a single file that you could lose if something goes wrong. Regularly copy your save file and paste it in other folders. It's a good thing to do before every boss, that way you can go back and fight the boss again if you want.

But yes it's about time From Software adds a manual save system.
