so they can continue sell this crap without sale and people will just buy other games on next summer sale
In a word: No.
That being said, even when it does go on sale, it will probably be only $4 to $8 discount. Most likely $4 at the first sale (10%).
So, if you are interested, might as well pony up the $40 and be done with it.
My personal feeling, so far, is that it is only worth about $20. While the SotE game play is solid, the actual SotE world is very small and the quality of the content is only medium. When compared to the original $60 Elden Ring.
SotE has the feeling of a rush job, intended to skim as much cash as possible from the folks that enjoyed Elden Ring. Kind of a cheesy thing to do to your customers. Just my feeling on it.
I am enjoying it. But I would enjoy it a lot more if it had only cost $20. :)
If it continues to sell at or just below market price, there is no good reason to suddenly give it a 70-80% cut.
"They're greedy" seems to have become shorthand for "I do not understand how businesses actually function, and have been conditioned by Valve to feel entitled to closeout discounts on products that still help fund the developers who make the games I enjoy."
The prices for FS Souls games have been high ever since Elden Ring proved to be popular. Sales can be found (Sekiro is 50% off for $30). But generally, they don't drop the price permanently and the sale prices are not common or consistent.
And if people weren't buying at those prices, they'd lower them.
They are, so they don't.
Pretty straightforward.
Probably why Sekiro is 50% off. One of the hardest games in the series to come to grips with. So, way few folks buying it at $60. I know I never would, but bought it at $30. :)
I day-oned it, and have never regretted it--but yeah, it's a different dog. More in common with its Tenchu roots than anything in the Souls line.
