There is really no comparable period because it takes from multiple periods in actual human history for inspiration. A bulk of it is medieval themed but that is more of a side affect of the Berserk inspiration than anything else I think. There's def bits of the renaissance in there.
The age the game is in is one of stagnation. Its been a long time since the shattering, longer than any real world human age I think. So its been stagnating for an unreasonably long time.
But overall I don't think its really "set" in any comparable era but does take from alot of real life eras. Its more of a thought piece on power holding onto power and the meaning of order within society than it is really a period piece.

That sounds about right. The Pulley Crossbow, Pulley Bow, and the Jar Cannon are all pieces of tech considered to be "complex mechanisms", "works of genius", and "experimental" in this world.
