What time period does the game take place in?
Is it known what era the game's events take place in? Maybe there were bits of lore in the text or dialogue that hint at a fictional or comparable real-world date?

The medieval ages basically, but kind of a post apocalypse? I mean, the whole world is in ruins after all.

There is really no comparable period because it takes from multiple periods in actual human history for inspiration. A bulk of it is medieval themed but that is more of a side affect of the Berserk inspiration than anything else I think. There's def bits of the renaissance in there.

The age the game is in is one of stagnation. Its been a long time since the shattering, longer than any real world human age I think. So its been stagnating for an unreasonably long time.

But overall I don't think its really "set" in any comparable era but does take from alot of real life eras. Its more of a thought piece on power holding onto power and the meaning of order within society than it is really a period piece.

The game does not take place in any historical time period, but "technology"-wise it seems to be equivalent to 16th century armor/weapons but no firearms. Which is basically like most generic fantasy settings.

Hmmm 1340 something when the Black Death started. The whole Lands Between are disease ridden with Scarlet rot, Deathblight and more......How many "normal" characters you met? Everyone looks sick or worse....

That sounds about right. The Pulley Crossbow, Pulley Bow, and the Jar Cannon are all pieces of tech considered to be "complex mechanisms", "works of genius", and "experimental" in this world.
