I use Black Knife Tiche who has both Ranged and Melee, is very aggressive, and hits like a truck.
Evade until Tiche gets aggro, get in my hits, then when I draw aggro . . . evade again until Tiche regains aggro. Rinse and repeat. Works a charm all 3 times I took him down. :)
Good Luck
Not the Greater variation in Raya Lucaria (although, that one was cake compared to this one), it's the field boss in the western Consecrated Snowfield and he's 10 times the boss that the "greater" one in Raya.
Worst is, you can't use summons and he's got a group of five (maybe more, I didn't count) of superman regular wolfs to distract and bite at your ankles as you're just trying to land a hit on him.
First time this game made me feel inadequate hahaha
There was nothing cool about this variation... he's got several tricks that the boss in Raya doesn't and friends to boot! I'm still salty I couldn't beat him fair.
Ahh. That one. For that one, I believe I took out all the smaller ones first, since they just run around. Of course, did not hit them when the big one was near. Once they were all gone, the single big one was not much problem. I think I took him out as both ranged (Sorcery) and melee (Moonveil Katana).
Well you're a true Elden Lord my friend because I still am upset that the fight ending was a complete cheese, I'll have to wait for NG+ to try him again.
I keep thinking of respec'ing now that I've got more options and weapon choices for end game. I've been almost entirely dex build and had a fun run. But after reaching this area I'm getting melted, even with 60 vigor and buffs. So, I have no ranged sorcery and the bow is too slow for him. Just need to figure out what to spec with the gear I have...
I tried taking out all his pals but he kept jumping in and knocking me to the ground and the proceeding to eat my entire soul from there lol
Was not trying to brag. Just trying to help with a simple strategy that always works, is not a cheese, and can be used in a lot of situations. :)
You are inadequate. I'd be embarrassed to complain about this boss when everyone knows the story bosses are harder. Did you think you found the one boss that is actually hard but no one talks about? No, you're bad at this one.
Yes, you absolutely over leveled the Raya Lucaria one. This is the outcome most players experience by exploring and leveling up.
Also, I just fought the CS fox on my level 100:
-100% the same moves as Raya Lucaria one
-reasonable health
-tons of damage, but completely in line with the Consecrated Snowfields.
-adds can be picked off ahead of time
So congrats, you made it to the hard part of the game. You're still bad.
I appreciate the tip, sincerely. I'll give it a go the next go around and give your approach a go. Thanks my friend, cheers!
Lol, I bow to you dear tarnished... I already admitted your insult in my first response to you, what are you offering?
Congrats for winning in a video game, and as a "tender" keyboard warrior. Your skills in the game I'm assuming don't transfer to your people skills in real life as offering no actual feedback other than to sound your own bell. I can promise you the embarrassment is completely on your side after this parade you just held for yourself.
Your response honestly made me feel better about my lackluster performance because of its complete disregard for any info other than to offer insult. I tip my hat to you.
Cheers,
Still Bad
It's definitely one the strongest side of things you would find in C-snowfield (Along the noble that transform into a buffed-up Runebear in the same stormy area), but definitely beatable at SL175+ wich is already a bit overkill for that area.
Forget about Ranged attacks against it, unless it's Night Sorceries or Glintblade. With your Dex and something Keen/Lightning buffed/infused, a few boops on the nose should do the job.
I always forget about Keen as an option, that's an excellent idea. Next run I'll give it a go.
I don't want to rehash the post about story bosses vs field boss. But I did Malenia on my third go, Godskin Duo just about ten minutes ago on the first (I did use the yellow summon, meh - it's there... but he barely did anything but walk in circles), and I've heard people rant about how the Duo is like the fav ER bossfight - it was over in a couple minutes. Yet that damn Wolf in CS still haunts me... even the steroid'd Runebear in CS, second try and got him. But that wolf... of all the enemies so far that have annoyed me or made me turn it off for the night. That thing still haunts me. Guess we all have that one enemy that tortured the hell out of us.
But let's be honest, if ER tracked death stats, falling to my death would 1000% take the trophy lmao
Oh, I'm just sulking in my own disappointment in this thing and can't let it go lmao
I generally hack with a +10 bloodhounds fang (I'm a fan of the ash), but I tried a dozen combos of weapons and ashes, even respec'd at one point (I kid you not, fought this thing at least 50 times, I completely lost track). Fextra says that one specific lesser wolf in CS has three times the hp as the boss from Raya. But i'm not sure, and not using that as an excuse, I just know it whooped me. I'll beat him fair in NG+ to redeem myself.
The third place (#1 being falling lol) dying stats just became that horsed knight before Maliketh tonight, but I figured out he didn't like poison and stayed on his shield side and he went down after death number eight. I'll save Maliketh for this week, hear he's a fun one!
