Blaidd the Half Wolf attacked me unprovoked?
This has just happened to me. First time I went in the church, there was nothing there but a sleeping bear that I honestly thought was a rock so I killed it. I come back later, riding through just to make sure I got everything, ran away from the sleeping bear, and then this dude sneak attacks me from the shadows and mutters something about "I told you..." and then proceeds to beat me within an inch of my life before I bail out. Asked a buddy and this isn't supposed to happen. Now I'm finding out that I'm just gonna miss out on a bunch of content because the game is still bugged like 2 years after release. "You wanna experience the game as it was intended? Guess you can just throw 40 hours of gameplay in the trash!"

I play games on a two year lag like this to avoid this garbage. Guess I'm gonna go kill him for his stuff now and just request absolution in another 20 hours.

It's been known to happen that sometimes he can actually fall from the church and cuz he takes damage, he goes aggro even if you had nothing to do with it. As long as you don't kill him, you can always go to the Church of Vows to reset his aggro

Oh, and, I understand that he also goes aggro when you kill some kind of snow bear creatures too, if you did that, idk if the church helps tho

Ah so if you kill him then it's game over and you can't fix the situation by absolving your sins? Man ♥♥♥♥ reddit.

You did the right thing, Blaidd sucks and Ranni does nothing for the lands between. Go for the frenzy flame ending.

Huh yes, ahem. Go for the Frenzy Flame ending, just like 16 % of the players did according to achievements
Absolving sins only works if you've aggro'd an NPC and left them alive. It's funny that there's no sin to clear if you killed them.

If he's still alive, keep him like that. Look up where you can get a Celestial Dew item, and make your way to the Church of Vows in Liurnia, wouldn't take you longer than 15 minutes. You can go around Stormveil Castle if you're worried that you have to go through it first; there's a side path along the broken bridge along the castle's east side.

He's still alive but I think that's cuz he's immortal and respawns because "You can't kill a shadow" or whatever. I've killed him once in self defense purely because it's my first time playing the game and I thought he was a special enemy or something because I haven't attacked any npcs so I had no reference point. I've visited a couple times afterwards, he's still there saying "Didn't tell you? You can't kill a shadow."

So if what constitutes a forgivable sin is the npc still breathing, the situation may be salvageable.

But if anyone knows for a fact that if you kill Blaidd he will never forgive you I'd appreciate that info. I've seen too much conflicting information far to know for sure.

I've since carved through Stormveil Castle and he's still angry.
