Please help a hacker broke my game.
earlier today i was doing pvp with a friend on NG+1, letting ourselves get invaded and all. well, one invader was a hacker. we were chasing him when suddenly he stopped moving. next thing i know is i have every status effect in the game, me and my friend instantly die, and our games crash.

I loaded back in, finding that i got some items from the field bosses in limgrave. i explored the world, and turns out, every field boss is now dead. the hacker killed every field boss in my world as an invader. (no, i didnt have a backup because i never thought this was even possible.)

the problem now is that suddenly, i am no longer getting quest items. i was doing seluvis' questline. gave him the starlight amber, but dint receive the scorpion charm OR the draught. went to fia to continue her questline. i didnt receive the dagger but she gave me the dialogue for when she does. this was the runthrough i was planning on doing every npc questline in (which i had done up till altus). somebody please help. theres nothing about this online.

first question, are you using seamless or vanilla?

There's a reason I always make back up saves in souls games. This has happened since Dark Souls 1.
You'll probably be able to recover from a cloud save through steam, I've done it before. It's something like Help > Steam Support > Account Information > Cloud saves.... something like that and you should be able to grab an older save and use that
Too late now.

Keeping manual backups of save file is about
only thing that can save you in situations like this.

This was true in Dark Souls Prepare to Die and it is still true.
Sorry but you might have to restart from the beginning. Got the same BS yesterday but I had my backup and it was back to normal. If you don't, then there's really nothing to do.

I also had a suspicion of who did that to you, the link to their profile is on mine. Block them.

Thanks for the reply.

i'd recommend recording your adventures from now on.

It's super-easy these days, I think Nvidia, Windows, and probably AMD have "instant replay" features implemented.

Good luck with finding a solution here. And I mean that.

I hear ya man. That sucks your save was borked.

Just to clarify, they're not "hackers".

They're cheaters, who eat ♥♥♥♥ and love it, not hackers.

All good though. Don't give up, skeleton.

If nothing helps, you can just rush to finish your NG+, it can be done in like ~8 hours at a leisurely pace, assuming you don't take 20 attempts on every boss. And yeah, it's 2025, back up your saves.
