Cant summon spirits at all

I'm on my 3rd play through of the game, I got the spirit calling bell from ranni at the church. I have 200FP and cant summon any spirits no matter where I go or who I fight. I haven't seen the tombstone marker above my ashes and havent been able to summon them in any boss fight. I have not done any multiplayer things other than invading to get to mohg. is this fixable or am I cooked?

Are you absolutely sure you picked up the spirit calling bell on this exact run and not an older one?

If not, go pick it up from church of elleh or the twin maiden husks.

I made sure to get the bell and spirit ashes from ranni, thought it might've just been that I didn't have the bell and was glitched but its in my inventory. It's also not for purchase from the twin maiden husks so i might just be screwed. Thank you for the reply though

any mods? verify game files, like 3 times. it sometimes doesn't do it on first try.

or reinstall the game fully, play without mods.

just to test you can also start a brand new game, get the bell and wolves and try summoning them at Margit or dungeon boss (cave, tunnel, catacomb. NOT evergaol)

if the bell somehow disappeared, you should be able to buy it from twin maidens

So, not much information here. But a couple of things to check:

* Look in your inventory and see if it is there. It cannot be dropped, sold, or transferred to your bank.

* Make sure you actually have a summon on your belt, although that would not prevent the tombstone from showing up.

* Do you actually remember talking to Ranni as a spirit at the Church of Elleh AFTER you get the conversation regarding the mount up at the Gatefront Site of Grace? In addition, you might have to advance to night at the church a couple of times to get her to spawn sitting on the wall. Also, only at night.

Yep, That was one of the things I made sure to do in the beginning of this play through I exhausted her dialogue til she faded away and she gave me the spirit calling bell and the lone wolf ashes. made sure to use the cheapest spirit ashes so I'm sure its not a FP problem. Might just make a new character and see if anything is different. Just a little disappointing cause my character is near level 200. I'm a big magic user so spirits tend to be one of the things I like to use lol somehow made it that long without ever using them but got to fighting at the haligtree and its frustrating. Appreciate the response :)

You did not mention if you found the bell in your inventory. You will have the dogs from your previous play-through, but would not have had the bell.

I have been playing seamless-coop and dabbling in mods to respawn bosses as I didnt get the achievement for killing Malenia. I will try to reinstall and disable mods. none seem to be active when I launch normally through steam but cant hurt to have a fresh install. Thank you for the response :)

You did not mention if you found the bell in your inventory. You will have the dogs from your previous play-through, but would not have had the bell.

This play through was a fresh character so my inventory was completely empty from the get go other than the starting kit. I did find the bell in my inventory but it was after I had talked to Ranni at the church of elleh and received the items.

If you have Furlcalling Finger Remedy active you can't summon spirits.

Don't have it active I never summoned anyone, Only thing I did multiplayer wise was invading to do varre's quest, made sure that the Remedy wasn't active and tried launching offline. appreciate the response

yep its in my inventory and I have the spirits in my belt. They're always greyed out and my character does an animation like he's out of flasks no matter where I go, even places I know I've summoned spirits before

Indeed, that is interesting. Could have something to do with the mods. Hard to say. Does the problem happen when you are in Seamless Coop and when playing without Seamless Coop?

So, you don't see the Tombstone at all either? No Tombstone and bell or no bell, Ashes or no Ashes, game wont' summon.

Not for me atleast, Doing a reinstall of the game and seeing if it works. I do have a friend that hasn't been able to summon spirits during our Co-op playthrough at all. I've never had this problem modded or vanilla solo until this character. So fingers crossed it works soon and Thank you for the help
