I finally figured out why Elden Ring was lagging on my high-end PC.

I wanted to share how I got rid of literally all the lag and now have smooth gameplay at 60 FPS. Mind you, nothing had worked earlier to get rid of the lag. I tried disabling this and that that people said could fix the lag, but nothing worked.

But then, I found a video that solved my lagging. The problem was that ”CPU 0” was enabled in
”Set affinity” for Elden Ring in Task manager.

Basically, AntiCheat makes it so you can’t make any changes in ”Set affinity” nor ”Set priority” for Elden Ring in Task Manager. So, first I needed to download a mod that disables AntiCheat. Then, I was able to turn CPU 0 off in ”Set Affinity”.

This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever seen and can’t believe I had to do this in order to get rid of the lag. And all this time I thought my PC was broken or something.

point directly to the missing gaming optimisation support for 9000 series cpus on this b650 motherboard.

beside this disabling eac cut out a large amount of cpu use what directly has impact into the core 0 usage.

this is not a solution this is how to screw up more things than to fix something.

I saw a video with half a million views about the CPU 0, obviously more people than me had problems then.

nonsense the core 0 issue is a outdated bios problem at amd cpus in combination with the broken windows 11 24h2 issues.

you clearly have no idea how to analyse and fix something like every guy with a core 0 issue had

views of a video are pointless to narrow down how often a problem appear, less than a few thousands have this problem out of 25000000.

laymans like you should stop to use a pc at all.

but keep going this way, it is better for you and any others that you have to play offline.

I don't know why you keep saying I didn't listen to you or that I complained. I cannot recall complaining at all? I maybe asked if there were other ways to for example update BIOS cause I didn't have an USB-stick at home, that's not me complaining, that's me asking a reasonable question. If you view that as complaining I don't know what to tell you.

You randomly also decided to say 10 year olds understood better than me, which is totally uncalled for and very insulting. You keep saying "it's just the truth" and with that logic you could just straight up justify bullying. Is a bully calling someone an overweight person a fattie not insulting cause it's the truth? I also wasn't the one who built my PC, it is prebuilt. The motherboard I chose I did not know wouldn't work 100% with Ryzen 79800X3D and Radeon RX 7900 XTX. I had asked many people on Discord "is this pc setup good" and everyone said yes. I couldn't have known this specific motherboard couldn't update BIOS online. I did not even know what BIOS was when I bought this PC.

it was not random to say this it was directly related to your actions and "questions" and it is the truth 10 year olds are able to follow the instructions i gave to you or understand the facts i showed you.

It's always hilarious when the guy's whose part time job seems to be diagnosing tech problems in steam forums get pissed at people for not knowing what to do. I wonder why they go to the steam forums in the first place...? Anyways OP, one quick look at his post history or really any previous interaction would tell you that he's a pretentious douche. He get's upset very often and resorts to insults, and tells people they shouldn't have PC's simply because they lack the knowledge of PC's. I guess it's their fault they don't browse and respond to questions on forums all day
