Have you traveled south of limgrave? Travel to underground areas. Get as far as you can. And then you should be going through Caelid anytime. Lots of stuff to do, after Caelid you'll likely be going directly into Atlas Plateau

At about level 100-150 is where you will ideally be at the Capitol l and the Giant's area.

Level up a bit more, then head west of the academy. If you go to the Main Academy Gate sight of grace, you can teleport there using one of the magic gates.

If you haven't collected the dectus medallions,, you'll need to take a secret route off to the left side. If you have collected them, you can take the giant lift right up.

Have you gone to the bottom of the Academy to get eaten by the Iron Maiden to be trasnported to the Volcano Manor? Have you done Caria Manor, which is to the North of the Academy?

To second this, 2 medallions are required to activate the elevator. But it is not the only route. To my knowledge there are 3 ways to get the Atlas Plateau

Yeah those bosses are little difficult at the wrong level and dependent on your play style.
I would work on getting all accessible areas before going to Atlas Plateau. Think of Atlas Plateau Act 2 of the game.

The right side medallion can be found at Fort Faroth in Caelid.

so if im getting it right , my next target is the volcano demigod , but i need to pump my level up by farming around zones where i can , and get my build straight ?

Yes.

After the academy you can do parts of caelid (there would be the second part of the lift key too), just stay away from dragon borrow and be prepared to bolt when things get dicey.
Depending on how well it goes you could progress through your npc quests and the underground areas (well in the forest and in caelid) until the caelid festival starts - that's another story boss.
If things aren't going so hot I wouldn't go to the festival, but instead scout around the plateau for a while, than come back.

Plateau or caelids story boss split the path again:
After the plateau you can go to the vulcano manor, or the capital city - or back to caelid to finish the boss of.
If you did the caelid boss first you can go back to the forest and go deeper underground as far as you can manage (nice xp and some good loot) - once you get stuck return to the surface and do the other paths.

Eventually you should go to the vulcano manor, either before or after clearing all of the underground (it really depends on build and playerskill, emphesis on the and)

Technically you only need two great runes to proceed to the next part of the story, but obviously there's no need to rush, especially if you're feeling under-leveled.

The next major area to progress the story would be Altus Plateau. However, before you head there, you may want to make sure you've cleared the following areas:
- Limgrave (including Stormveil Castle)
- Weeping Peninsula (including Castle Morne)
- Central Liurnia (including Raya Lucaria)
- East Liurnia (including Ruin-Strewn Precipice*)
*This is an alternate way of reaching Altus if you don't have the Dectus Medallion. Even if you have the medallion, you can still clear it for loot and runes.
- West Liurnia (including Caria Manor)
- Caelid (including Redmane Castle*)
*The Radahn Festival event must be active in order to fight Radahn. However, this also blocks you out of fighting the normal boss of the area, and prevents you from accessing certain parts of the castle. Defeating Radahn and speaking with Jerren will end the event and return the castle to normal. The festival can be triggered by activating a site of grace in Altus or progressing Ranni's questline.
- Siofra River/Nokron*
- Ainsel River/Nokstella*
*Nokron is only accessible after defeating Radahn. Nokstella is only accessible after progressing Ranni's questline. Both areas are part of Ranni's questline.

I would aim to be around level 80 or higher before heading to Altus or Mt. Gelmir. Once you get there, explore Altus a bit before heading over to Mt. Gelmir to do the Volcano Manor questline. Also, if you haven't yet, you should find Rya in Liurnia and do her quest, it will get you easy access to Volcano Manor once you arrive in Altus, but you must do it before activating any sites of grace in Altus.

Edit: Oh I should mention that Caelid and Dragonbarrow are two separate areas. Dragonbarrow is a late game area and the enemies will be very tough. However, the other half of the Dectus Medallion is also located there.

After the Academy getting a job is the next logical step
