Unplayable
This game has terrible PC optimization. I seriously suggest if you are looking to play it, based on my experience, to play it on console. It freezes up constantly, which, given the type of game this is, 100% gets you killed.

I found online that this is a commonly reported issue, and a lot of people suggest various fixes from disabling different things in device manager to ensuring you do not have the xbox app installed. I tried all of them to no avail and, quite honestly, should not have to do that anyway. The game should just work and I should have do exactly nothing to make it work.

Plays excellent on ps5 and xbox tho.

EDIT TO ADD:

Anyone saying the problem is my pc is wrong. Google this. Maybe you are lucky enough that somehow your system has a configuration that isn't causing this problem. Good for you! For anyone else looking to try the game, my point is that you should know that you are rolling the dice on whether you are going to have to spend entire days off of work trying to make it run before you can do anything--and you might never succeed.

On two PCs very little problems for me.
Rare crashes but nothing else comes to mind.
I play it on a 2016 gtx1060 16gb ram HDD (laptop) pretty well. Not the best, but definitely acceptable, given the long load times.

It's 1080p 60 fps with a few dips here and there, but nothing major. Anyways, happy trails bud.

"Unplayable"? 600+ hours say you are 100% wrong. Look to your own system for the problem source.

ryzen 5 2600 and rx590 ... compromised and running maxed out at 30 FPS ... Very playable for me and there are a few sections where it will go down to around 20ish fps ... but eh overall very playable
Works fine for me. RTX 3090

you know you have a PC ?
this piece of technology is far more complicate than a console.
the problem you get can have a lot of causes and it is up to you to fix it.

what specs you have, what background apps you have.

mistakes can be made at your hardware build, windows can get damaged, the options why your system has this malfunction are endless.

No, OP. You should be able to play Elden Ring perfectly, but im afraid there is something wrong with your computer.

Focus in your own problems, share your computer specs and be more specific if you want help.

Looks like you've been having lots of issues with the PC(your other posts). Works just fine out of the box on 3 different PC's I have used.

Other issues i had with other games are unrelated to this. I previously had an Intel 14th gen that has the defect and that what was causing issues before. I swapped my CPU to AMD and no longer have any issues with any other games.

I don't own a console of any kind, and the game runs rather well out of the box on my potato. Sounds like a problem with your PC. As dark-breed already mentioned, a PC is far more complicated than a console, and no developer can take any and all issues into account that might occur for any given game. SOMEONE will always have some issues. But usually, it's just a handful of people (figuratively speaking) compared to the millions of people playing, and the same is true for Elden Ring.

I love how people say console performs better, even though my PC (which is pretty mid range by the way) can run a stable 60 whereas my series s sometimes feels like it's struggling to hit 40 or 50.
skill issue

It would help if you posted your specs CPU, GPU, RAM etc. I have a relatively low end by today's standards CPU and mid-range GPU and it runs great. 5600X + 3080 @ 1440p

Yes, you are right, this is a crooked optimization ((mainly after the release of the DLS) a few months earlier before the DLS I played and there were no problems) which the developer is not going to fix, he received money for the DLS and you can no longer play the game, but write unsubscribes that your software is supposedly to blame for the mouse (despite the fact that the system did not have and does not have such software). And there are plenty of such topics here, just as there are plenty of those who will say that since everything is fine with them, it means your PC is to blame (there is also one particularly stubborn one who has compiled a whole list of supposed problems with your PC and is trying to prove to everyone that the problem is exclusively in their PC and exclusively in one game) and not the developer.

Faulty hardware, faulty drivers or a faulty windows installation is indeed not the problem of the developer. Even if it's just one game that brings the issues to light, it's still your PC that is the problem, and not the game.

ppl like you should stop to use computers.

you have no idea how computer work, you have no idea how many games are out there where false builds, setup and software cause the same problems.
computer are not a console, plug in and play only works if the user has enough knowledge to even narrow down a appearing problem, there are millions of computers running this game fine and a few hundred with lack of knowledge where the game does not work because the user is the problem.
