I run a dragon build and decimate most enemies. The big problem is squishiness.
Also look at what you have on top of the Dragon Communion Seal buffing those incantations up to 15%.

Personally I prefer Dragonice as my dragon's breath incantation for general enemies. It's FP efficient compared to Boreal, not only provides flat damage, but also damage negation You can always use a damage type you know your enemy is weak to, and that access to variety means that they're always going to be good.
They just clear rooms easily due to the range and bouncing off walls for continuous damage. They make all of the dungeons in the game easy mode. Then you have Dragonmaw which has considerable lunge distance, meaning you can use it from a safe distance and not get knocked out of it because of the high hyperarmor. It also does high stance damage while only taking 3 seconds to cast. You're also using a build that can utilize Blue Dancer Charm since you're not going to be wearing armor anyway, further buffing the damage.
That's what people mean when they say squishy, but you're still going for 60 vigor and unless you're RPing you also have access to other insane buffs, fortifications and heals for very little faith investment. It's honestly crazy you can have Heal From Afar for just 18 faith. I really can't think of a reason you'd struggle with incantations in general these days, but especially not Dragon Communion. They were already so good before the DLC, and then got buffed.
The only drawback of the DLC is I really don't see a use for the Dragon Communion incantations added. They're not bad, but the base game ones are just so good that they feel a bit underwhelming in comparison. Still everything else it adds is a major bonus not just for incantation lovers, but especially for Dragon Communion incantation lovers.
