Anyway to complete Varre quest without PvP?
So I completely missed Mohg my first playthrough because I went in blind and I didn't have any desire to pvp. I tried it once and it was fine and all but I just didn't care that much.

So I'm on NG+ and trying to do Varre quest. Problem is that everytime I seem to invade it's either instant game crash or I get ejected because they were fighting a boss.

How do I finish this quest? I had one pvp encounter that didn't instant crash/eject me in two hours of trying. I'm frankly tired of this BS and just want to get on with the quest.

I'm also sitting here verifying my files for the 8th? time I think. Has PvP always been this garbage with crashing or is this a new patch thing?

There's an NPC invasion available in the Writheblood Ruins (Altus Plateau) for this quest. Find his sign on the floor of one of the crumbled buildings and use your Festering Bloody Finger three times before returning to Varre.

EDIT: You can also kill him on the first invasion and return to Varre.

Yes, there is a npc you can invade that was added a few patches ago.

Thank you, I'll just wait until I hit Altus Plateau then.

new patch brought in ray tracing and thats causing issues make sure its off

You can also just invade people normally and instantly use the finger to leave the invasion as soon as you load in. Even if you crash or get booted due to the fog gates you still get credit. Well maybe not for crashing depending on when it saves the data.

What do you mean you get "ejected"? By whom?

Just invade and jump to your death. Still counts for the quest you don't have to win or actually fight anyone.

It would say something like host has begun fighting a boss. Returning to your world.

I'd crash more than get that message tho. It's all good, I'm just going to do the NPC version of PvP because it likely won't RNG crash my game.
