if you start new than no. it has no effect. you open seemless with a seperate exe that does NOT have cheat engine. when you go back to base game simply use steam or base game exe and it wil perform and load onto servers with cheat engine and all your base game files as normal
That said, if you do use other mods with Seamless, like a randomizer or anything that replaces the game's regulation.bin file, both you and your co-op partners need to use the same mods at the same version, etc, and if you want to swap back to vanilla, remember to remove your modded files and/or break the file path in the Modengine .ini so that the game doesn't use any modded files.
So, in short, if you're just using Seamless co-op, it duplicates your save and creates separate .co2 files to use instead of the vanilla .sl2 files. And with the way seamless works, swapping back to the vanilla game is easy enough, wouldn't get you banned, and keeps your vanilla save files separate.
it can be hella buggy sometimes especially when using the horse etc but when it works its hella fun if you got a chill buddy to play with and ignore crybabies that go BUT THATS CHEATING! cause they can F off xD
I think my issue was unique. I got a new PC and had the base game on drive D while steam and my appdata file are on drive C. Either way i couldnt get it to work but starting a new character seemless looked cool. you can also get cheat engine ( i think its called) a mod where you can give yourself any items in game on a new character so starting new you dont have to go hunt down your build through the entire game
As long as you disable this mod you can easily get back onto the regular network
The .ini config file that you use to set up your seemless session, also includes a 'file extension' option that you can fully customize up to 24 characters.
So you can have multiple save files in your same elden ring directory and they won't effect each other, at all.
