Promised Consort Radahn lore question

Is the second phase the final form? Is there one more transformation? The reason I ask is because when we walk in on Marika, who allegedly did the same thing as Miquey, she appears to be one body without a shoulder friend. How can they do the same thing with different results?

The God figure requires a Consort. Godfrey, then Radagon were the chosen Consorts of Marika, and we can choose to be the third one to become Elden Lord. Miquella needs a Consort to rise to Godhood, and he chose Radahn.

None of this requires a weird mishmash of people the way Marika and Radagon did. It's mysterious, but Radagon is a part of Marika, and I assume she did it to sort of, avoid needing an actual Consort. You know? Like instead of NEEDING a lord to rule with her, she tried to make a male version of herself to rule, hopefully uncontested, but Radagon ended up being more like a splinter from her, and he embodied totally different values than her. Still sharing the same body, but two different personalities.

She's the only one to make this weird decision, since we don't need to merge with Marika nor Ranni to become their Consort, nor did Godfrey.

The lore of that fight is quite interesting actually

During the age of gold, Miyazaki found they were running close to the release deadline and had no final boss, so he threw darts at a wall with all the various characters from Elden Ring, and and pulled a paper with a word on it from a hat

The darts landed on "Miquella" and "Radahn" and the word he pulled said "piggyback ride"

And thus was the final boss of the dlc born

Just be glad they decided to put Radahn on the bottom. Miquella made Str his dump stat. It could have been a very short fight.

Just imagine some of the interesting combinations we could have had. Rykard and the Elden Beast. Shabriri and Dung Eater. Gideon Ofnir trying to carry Ulcerated Tree Spirit #23. Patches and Miyazaki... oh wait, someone did that one.
