i tried to find that person but he is not at the murkwater cave

If you are an early player, you need to fight and kill him under a large structure south of the first step site of grace and north of the bloodhound knight evergaol. If you are later game, kill him at the mountain pass and go to that exact spot I told you about earier, the katana will be there.

If you're at liurnia he'll have an invasion sign at the bridge of the academy's entrance

It's a 2 min sprint from the Starting Steps if you wanna just fight Yura immediately

Totally different questline/NPC you are thinking of Patches

I have never once seen Yura near MW Cave myself

He's a bit north of the cave after beating nerijus to congratulate you and tell you about bloody fingers. He then moves back to his usual spot

He has is own quest line, yes. But it won’t stop you from beating the game

You'll miss out on an aow atleast. Duno if elannora will spawn if you kill him
