Thoughts on colossal weapon buffs?

I tried it while helping with Malenia, it is noticeable being able to recover faster from attacks.

And the dmg is nice.

i feel the power, lions claw is fast af now also, but the best thing is recovery times imo

The faster recovery is a godsend, that's what killed me more often than not, and stopped me from risking combos (especially at endgame.)

very VERY worried is my insight into this.

For those unaware the late game pvp is fairly heavily controlled by halberds, and finger shields. Op str builds can putt the fear of god in you as they can not only cap you with jump attacks, but also all sorts of the following real issues:

-You can force poke someone into stun lock animation. No controller input. (VERY easily done if you close the distance with BHS because you can close that distance before anyone can get out of the animation.) <That is the why for the 'all' factor of ppl who just do not get this.

-They stack hard. They all stack so hard with the natural build. We are talking the highest rated DPH x investment of all things available in game X ring level X upwards of seven + buffs at start when using hybrid faith investment. Bare in mind HYBRID faith investment is already a serious duel issue because you become immortal against your peers while carrying the strongest gear in game.

Very very worried. PPL were already not aware of the huge power creep that pure str builds have because they can skip a lot of investment for power unlike many many other builds. Guess we will see

This video seems to illustrate the speed gains coming in around the second combo. I can't imagine spamming combos being a good strategy for colossals...

Spamming combos with colossals isn't very smart, as you'll just waste stamina. That's more something you might do in pve if you want to kill an annoying enemy as quickly as you possibly can, but in pvp it will never work out for you unless you have a whole squad backing you up.

i dont use them since the og demons souls, but the problem is i dont see people using them either here in elden ring, buff was needed

What the video doesn't demonstrate too well is the divide between the recovery and the start of the next attack. Since a part of the buff is also recovery speed rather than just attack speed, it is not just about hitting combos easier but also about regaining your ability to dodge sooner. It is now just that little bit safer to commit to each attack.

Seems like the differences are fairly minor, except for Lion's Claw. Thank god they didn't buff the crouch attack. Looks like it was even very slightly nerfed.

Only difference being some of us actually give a damn about you hopeless souls, and actually invest in the hope of bettering things. Unlike ALL of you, and the ability to tldr everything because none of you care to read or write more than four words. =p

Yeah theyre junk.. Not good enough unless youre gonna dual wield which is... even worse IMO
