Did I botch Rannis questline somehow?

I went to Rannis rise and talked to her henchmen
Then I went to Siofra and talked to Blaidd

Then I got distracted and did a lot of other stuff :)

And then I decided to go on with the questline and went to Seluvis Rise (the seal was gone but he was not there)

Then I went to Siofra river again to see if I missed some dialogue...Blaidd started attacking me (I ran away)

I guess I did something to screw up the questline? Can it be remedied?

I have no idea. I gave Ranni the item she wanted and I haven't seen her since (that was over 30 hours ago). Was hoping to complete her questline without a guide but I think I botched it too

Maybe try using a Celestial Dew at the Church of Bows?

go back to rannis rise and speak to him again till you are done with his dialog then head to his rise and speak to him

For Cherub - sounds like you went to far in the story maybe; seek out the turtle pope to seek forgiveness from his ritual. This ritual will stop NPCs from being mad - but won't stop them from attacking if you went to far and Blaidd is scripted to for example.

To Krazy - all I can say, is check out the other nearby areas; there are 3 towers over there after all ;), rest is up to you so I don't spoil anything

You just missed something. It is really easy to miss the last couple parts of the quest.

btw if your at the part where you have to kill blaidd do so but question did you talk to mini ranni yet?

Bingo. Thanks: I dont know what I did wrong. But it worked to get absolved.

Thank you all for the tip. I think I'm back on track. Without spoiling anything for the OP, I just totally missed the fact that I needed to do something at a specific site of grace. Rested there and moved on - totally didn't see the option

If I remember correctly, the order of events for this quest should be something like...

1: Meet Ranni and talk to her advisers.
2: Meet Blaid at siofra river.
3: Talk to Seluvis.
4: Talk to Sellen.
5: Kill Radahn. Not sure if you need to talk to Blaid again first?
6: Go to the crater in mistwood and progress until you can get the fingerslayer blade then give it to Ranni, exhaust her dialog.
7: Go to Renna's rise, which leads to Ainsel river main. Find and pick up miniature Ranni, talk to it 3 times at the grace.
8: Find and defeat the "Baleful shadow"
9: You'll get a key which opens the chest in the same room as Renalla at Raya Lucaria. You get the darkmoon ring.
10: Beat Astel found in the lake of rot, then use the darkmoon ring to progress to the next area.
11: You'll find Ranni again below the Cathedral in the next area. You can complete her questline there.

I'm not sure how easy it is to botch the questline. If you already beat Radahn, maybe try finding the fingerslayer blade and giving it to Ranni. If that works then you can probably just proceed from there.

The "baleful shadow" looks like Blaid. So if you fought him near the Lake of rot, then it might not be botched.

I dont think its Blaidd actually, since its mentioned theres others like him (Such as Maliketh), i guess they simply reused his model, if you noticed he never uses Wolf's Assault, Blaidd's move.

Yeah, you're correct. It's my mistake because they look the same for some reason. At least reading about it on the wiki clearly distinguishes them. I don't really know enough about the Imperian shadows, just that Blaid is Ranni's.

That was exactly what I missed in my first play through as well. Caught it in new game.
