that what is excellent in this game, there are many way to reach some areas without you knowing about it.. take Gelmir hero grave as example, you can litarelly skip the whole dungeon to the boss with a specific location..

he made it so you dont have bosses to kill to get to other areas like ds games did so you can come back when stronger to tackle those bosses

I believe quest won't be broken as long you don't reach capital/snow area and you don't kill any shardbearer

welcome to the game. i found that path myself on day 1. its not hard to find if you just check around. its pretty much a reward for players who actually you know EXPLORE and use the open world instead of mindlessly running after the grace guidance and trying to beat margit at level 10.

be warned : resting at ANY grace in the liurnia area will kill irina and make her quest impossible to be done. this will not break hyettas questline tough.
it will also fast forward patches questline once you beat him in the cave. this will make you miss a gesture. but nothing else.
resting at any grace outside limgrave will also trigger melina to bring you to roundtable hold. (you can postphone the hold visit by simply quitting out of the dialoge where it says "i ll go too" and do the visit anytime later by simply clicking on the dialoge in any grace menu)

this skips the first part of roderikas quest. the golden seed is found at her shack instead in that case as you cannot deliver the mememto anymore (the red hood is still found). D will be moved to the hold even if you never meet him before.

this wont BREAK npc questlines (aside irinas will be pretty much skipped straigh to edgars invasion) but it will skip certain early steps entirely. youll mostly miss dialoge.

There's an invader by the coliseum in North Limgrave that may disappear if you defeat certain Limgrave bosses or venture past Limgrave.

NPC move once you get into a certain area and a few quests skips some dialogues like Irina's quest and sometimes miss items. If you want to know their story better doing it with a guide or you'll miss them because the game is pretty big and it's easy to get lost or forget where to go.

Stormveil Castle is a treasure trove of loot so make sure you go back later if you skip it. Do not go to the Altus Plateau or talk to Ranni in her tower before going to Redmane Castle in Caelid. That will cause you major problems. Be very careful in Caelid. Difficulty level is all over the place. Don't annoy big black birds or big dogs. Beast repellent torch will keep the dogs away and the basilisks you encounter later in the game. Merchant in Dragonbarrow sells it. You can make a run up there to get it, but just stay on your horse and avoid fighting anything. Thanks for the tips, I am in NG+ already, but just found out about that secret road :D anyway, why not go to Ranni, before going to Redmane castle? I kinda finished her quest before without issues and I am pretty sure I went to her first off.

If you don't then the castle is empty when you arrive and you can reach Radahn without ressistance (happened to me unintentionally lol). Literally no enemies.. I think only the 2 guard dogs will be at the gate and that's it.

I'm still finishing up my first playthrough, and I think I literally had a way to get to the Altus plateau without having to use the elevator lol but I didn't pursue the path at the time XD Kinda wish I had even if it'd have ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the balancing.
