Why use cheese in a duel?

Like 90% of the people dueling at the "main academy gate", are using cheese weapons or ashes of war lmao. Also like half the people here heal after they get hit once and act like the duel is still going on.

Isn't the whole point of a duel to get better? Not use a crutch? If you lose, then you lose, don't be a sore loser about it. The exception is that if you heal, then crouch a few times and then use all your heals and restart the fight. A host with 14 flasks fighting a red with 7 flasks is cheese, and its sad if you need that much of a crutch.

Maybe you guys are all noobs or something, so i'll list the currently known cheese:

Bloodhound step (AOW), Rivers of blood (AOW), Colossal sword crouching R1 spam, Stars of ruin spam (spell), Spear running attack spam, swarm of flies spam (spell), fingerprint shield usage.

Feel free to add onto the list if you feel I missed anything.

Fire's Deadly Sin + Bloodflame, Carian Retaliation glitch can be considered cheeses due to the fact you're using a flaw in the game design/code

those are exploits. They have no counter. Cheese can be worked around with a hyper specific counter dedicated to that one specific cheese. That's what separates cheese from exploits.

for me the vast majority of players are all using rivers of blood like close to 70% of my fights are the same katana spamming the same move

edit: And besides that it really easy to spite you, im still in the right, community rules are just that, theyre not real. But also, as you can clearly see im well aware on what git gud means, and it looks like you dont know. You can keep your rules, but there will be allways poeple who dont follow them, because they're made up.

Im already overcoming the cheese fine. Are you even reading my posts? Cheese doesn't help anyone get better. I have a counter to most of the cheese, but it's not anything skill dependent, its just simply having an item or weapon that counters that specific cheese lmao. You would know this if you weren't a noob.

chugging in a duel is unacceptable but stop whining about people's builds - they can use what they want and if you are host, you can see their equipment loadout before you summon, so dont duel people with gear you dont want to face

Im the one getting summoned you nerd lmao. I'm not a scrub who needs to use rune arcs so I let other summon me in, and its the hosts using cheese, so I don't have a choice of who I fight.
