Elden Ring remains open after closing it.

idk why but after closing the game it remains open.
The only way i can do to close the game is to close steam, but i don't want to do this because i will probably lose some files.
Anyway i'm playing on offline mode because i disabled easy-anti-cheat, because i couldn't enter the game as a blank screen came and then after 10-15 seconds it would crash.

Everyone I've heard from has the same experience. As long as you quit to the title screen before closing the game, you can either force steam to close it or close it through Task Manager, and you won't lose any progress.

It takes awhile to close. No need to nuke it.

Ok that is way to much. My game takes like 20 to 40 seconds.

you modified it so you have to live with the cnosequencies, also a whitescreen crash as you discripe has two causes, not compatible GPU or something is wrong in your windows. With this bunch of problems you have a bigger problem than a manipulated game will not close.

I always have to hit "close" on Steam itself (where you launch the game). I've heard others say they kill it with task manager which seems excessive, but it does work so do whatever you need to. Force closing Steam and then waiting for it to reopen is definitely excessive, but you can do that if you're done with Steam.

when i close it down it takes about 3 mins for it to fully close its happening to a lot of us. be careful forcing it can cause issues then its verify game files

It stays open for a reason, that reason has to do with maintaining a forced online connection. The reason for that can't be spoken of, because the ppl you worship flat out lie about why this is happening. Gl hf You'll never ever figure it out.

i do not give you a how to because two ppl here in the forum began to insult me after i started to help others to fix the whitescreen crash, but you can search for my posts and you will find all you need.
