Best Katanas?

Anyone can recommend a really good katana? Besides the cheese Rivers of Blood which is probably really overpowered

The nagakiba is nice, the double ended pole swords are cool too.

If you want to avoid another cheesy weapon, then probably not Moonveil, however for the most part all the Katanas are pretty good. The Serpentbone Blade can inflict Poison without having too low damage for a katana, the Dragonscale blade has a nice Ash of War that buffs the weapon with frostbite lighting, the nagakiba is basically Sephiroth's blade, the Uchigatana is the Uchigatana, and I can't remember any other katanas

nagakiba and uchiganda are both really good, the meteor ore katana is cool for str/intel. and the sepents katana is also cool for hi hp bosses it procs poison easy with its wa... the dragon scale katana may be the worst outa the bunch. but it is unique that its WA adds lightning anf frost dmg.. and does more dmg vs dragons... also the moonvale even though it was nerfed a bit is still really good dex/intel

Haha! I knew I was forgetting a Katana, but yeah I agree with this guy. Plus the Meteor Ore Katana has a very cool looking Heavy attack

you can use any 2 katanas to gather :) the nagakiba is vary long in the late game youll also get your hands on malina's blad.e. its a wicked good katana also also if you started as a samuri you can get a 2nd uchi in a cave in limgrave

i sometimes use a cold nagakiba with double slash, that's quite fun.

Nagakiba is the only valid answer. The only downside is you can't get two in one play through unlike uchigatana, and you have to kill an NPC to get it early. But it feels good to be able to whack enemies from so far. No longer will you wave the sword in front of the enemy's face before eating a fat punish

Anyone not answering Nagakiba is lying to you. It's just insane.

Put sword dance on it, buff it with an incantation of your choice and watch things die.

You mean, you can get two in one playthrough? If so that's cool. There's like no disadvantage to using it over uchigatana afaik, just more range

There are so many ways to counter rob in pvp, the red katana is easy to spam wa but saying it's op is not right. You could try moonveil or seppuku naginata and say they are even much more op.

this too. lol at moonveil hysteria over slow recovery useless ranged attack meanwhile naga bloodstep user is untouchable and doesn't need to be cuddling the enemy to be within normal attack range
