Is Castle Morne a Metaphor/Hidden Message to GOT fans?
if you think about it deeply right, the entirety of Castle Morne and its storyline is a direct reference to how D&D ruined game of thrones for everyone. the mobs that occupy this "once graceful castle" are wretched and hideous, probably the very ugliest mob type in the entire game, and that is a sort of metaphor for the character's in the show undergoing some seriously questionable and highly unpopular processes. their lore goes that they are former servants of the commander of the castle and that they have been twisted by some nightmarish evil.

Gerald, the commander of the castle, represents G.R.R.M himself, with his daughter Irina whom sends you on the questline, representing George's work.

Gerald is trying to defend his garrison the best he can despite the ugly mob things having already ruined everything and basically won the battle, as symbolized by the ones standing around cheering atop a pile of burning corpses near the entrance of the castle, which is a metaphor for the show and by extension the books having been tainted by the touch of D&D whom are represented by the last boss in Castle Morne.

When Irina is murdered (spoilers lol) there is a knife resembling the final boss's weapon embedded in a pool of her blood, with Gerald in grief next to her, expressing regret and vowing vengeance. - this, finally, represents the aftermath of the controversy of the ending of game of thrones (the tv show) and that D&D stabbed G.R.R.M in the back and left a stain on his legacy that will never be forgotten.

When you kill the final boss of castle Morne, you are rightly rewarded with a sword made in the image of the iron throne, presumably to be used to help Gerald avenge Irina. a little nod to GoT fans that G.R.R.M is aware of what has transpired and are actively acknowledging that everyone is unhappy with it, and want the problem addressed.
bonus point: pure speculation, the fact the iron throne - a symbol for rulership - has been reshaped into a sword - a weapon, a tool of war - could be a metaphor for GRRM being in active pursuit of redemption on behalf of his work and of the fans, by using his massive influence in hollywood to pull certain strings that makes sure D&D are going to have a bad time.

feel free to add on to this theory and let me know what you think.
am i just high, or is there something to this?

EDIT1: Wrong name, guy's name is Edgar, not Gerald. my bad.
EDIT2: D&D in this context refers to Dan & Dave - the showrunners of GoT.

Martin is too busy counting that HBO money to put thought into anything

It's obvious that they're sending hints that the GoT finale was only ruined because of the elden beast. The writers got early access to the elden beast fight and simply gave up.

No.

For one thing the castle Morn story line has a conclusion, it cant be a metaphor for Game of Thrones.
aight i suppose i might have been hitting the bong too hard.

also, i kinda forgot the main guys' name at first, its Edgar, not Gerald.
minor irrelevant detail, but im just correcting it now before anyone bursts a blood vessel about it.
