I personally had a white screen crash issue. Ended it by ending Afterburner and Riva tuner before starting game. No problems since.. SO i know first hand this to be true.
I don't understand your comment...they are background apps that inject information such as fPS and CPU and GPU temps and utilization on to the game screen why it is running. Afterburner can also control your fans and be used for overclocking. There icons will be down in the background apps in the right corner in WIndows. just right click them and click close.

A new window will open up
Here you will find multiple files and folders with random names
These files have no use, just press Ctrl+A to select all files and delete them.
