Give the Golden needle to NPC

Hi,
I found the little fella that can alter my armor. Did the quest in the cave, gave him the first needle.
Now he is sitting near the capital (right before it).
I found the golden needle & sewing kit, and some demigod clothes (bough the whole set after killing the major boss in the academy).
He can't alter this armor. And he doesn't talk about the golden needle when I talk to him.

I have no idea what I'm missing. Could someone help me figure this out ?

ps : f the bloodhound, white mask & big crow. Hate them.

You should be able to alter them yourself at a sight of grace, Boc isn't really needed. The armour alterations are kind of disappointing to be honest, it is just cape or no cape, would be nice if you could change colours at least or even upgrade armour.

I can alter basic clothing myself, but not this set I bought.

I don't think Rennalas set has an alternative look. I'm assuming this is the set you mean?

You can give him the golden needle inside the capital. Just keep playing for now.

you can give it behind the academy gates, but you have to exhaust dialogue and rest enough, he will talk about it eventually

(also, altering/removing the cape reduces defense and weight)
