there isnt any boss what was designed around spirits.. spirit always break AI
use what you want, but dont lie about it, dont dream up excuse and try somehow justify it by lies.
nobody care if you use spirits or not
They are also great speeding tool when you just want to faceroll the game for fast-collection of items.
I kind of agree partly with both of you, but the summons definitely break bosses. I kept hearing about how hard certain fights would be (Malenia, Malekith, etc), but they were honestly trivial with a beefy summon tanking them while I nuked with weapon arts. Occasionally they would attack me and I would switch into dodge mode until the spirit took over aggro. After beating them, I felt like I hadn't really engaged the content.
Not me, I admitted to getting rolled by the castle Morne boss. I honestly doubt I'll make it through all bosses without summons, I'm just trying.
Obviously you do care.
If you're not proud over what you did, that's less a comment about the game, and just more about the unfortunate reality that you played the game in a way you simply didn't enjoy.
If you're not entirely convinced of your own frustration, consider that also the situation is not even that simple It's not as simple as summons-easy, no summons-hard. A lot of people speak generally about these things, but it also makes a difference what level you were, what weapon were you using, how were you fighting etc.
For instance, I used jellyfish against margitt. I guarantee my fight was a lot more challenging than it was for some other people based on the way they've described their experiences vs what I was using at the time.
Now, obviously, you got the ppl who can beat the game with a Rune Level 1. But that just reinforces my point. The gaming experience is so radically different, so I think in general, this type of elitist-driven talk is hurtful on the whole. At the end of the day, everyone is playing this differently.
I mean lol look at everyone saying to pump vigor to 40 or 60. That also really changes what you can do during these fights too, right? But it's not something to feel bad about either. To each their own.
i mean it is not "bad" ..every souls game from FS have tons of tools how to trivialize that game. souls games were always about make your own difficulty. now it is only more visible.
and for sure - nothing wrong on beat game with spirits.. and when you feel you want more challenging run, then try it without them. take it like advantage that you already know what bosses do.
I am consistently baffled by this community that thinks the developers deliberately went through the time and effort to include features... that they supposedly don't want you to use?
You make the claim that ashes "break" boss fights when the developers specifically made it so you can ONLY summon ashes during boss fights... that makes literally 0 sense, I'm sorry.
No, ashes don't break anything but the fragile egos of dew-chugging forum trolls who have interwoven their self-worth with their ability to brag about beating a FromSoft boss solo, something they just can't do now that everyone is realizing that there is literally no point in banging your head against the wall trying to solo a boss (unless you crave the approval of randoms on the forums) when there are so many tools to make it easier.
Maybe I would understand if there were some achievements or secret quests or items that you could earn by beating bosses solo... but it's clear by the fact that FromSoft has NEVER done anything like that in their games that, at the very least the game doesn't care if you play solo or not, and at most it is probably expected that you summon help when you need it.
i was rly trying find something in your babbling.. something more than few insults.. but it wasnt possible.
anyway, thank you for sharing and take care
