MOHGWYN'S SACRED SPEAR

Anyone has some experience with this weapon? I am considering using it for a pure arcane build, maybe only using some minimum strenght to be able to use it. Noticed it had a C scale for str though. Think a pure arcane with little str would still use this thing effectively?

It scales better with arcane than with strength. You can calculate optimal stats for any weapon using slugbot on er pvp discord or on my server, type /allocatestatser command

Used it for a long time with 40 STR and 50 ARC, got 717 AR out of it. Two-handing didn't improve much of the damage since it only affects the physical portion of it.
You get the real damage and utility from its ash of war, Bloodboon Ritual. It's an AOE that can pass through any obstacle, can hit enemies behind walls, can hit enemies through ceilings above or below you, causes massive bleed build up and of course lots of fire damage. Only downside is that it literally only deals fire damage, meaning snakes are immune to it except for the bleed.
It's a damn good weapon imo.

EDIT: also worth mentioning is it's massive reach. It has the furthest reach out of all great spears.

EDIT2: it also looks *really* cool. Combine it with Sanguine Noble Hood, Lord of Blood Robe, Maliketh's Greaves and Maliketh's Gauntlets and you got some crazy drip going.

Thank you!! Need it for a vampire build, together with blood magic and Rivers of blood, plus talismans that give me health per kill/attack. Would even consider using Rykards sword, but that's a faith weapon, unfortunately.

Yeah, Bloodboon and Bloodflame Talons are pretty good imo. Swarm of Flies is okay, used to be insane bleed buildup but the devs toned it down. Still useful on targets that don't move around a lot and stay inside of the swarm.

On the healing per attack: there's also the Butchering Knife which heals you on hits. Great Stars does this too, but it doesn't look that good imo.

Butchering knife looks like Ichigo's weapon in Bleach. But it heals only 1%. You liked Bloodflame talons? I am keeping it for rpg value alone, the damage is not so great on my end, with that FP I can use weapon art on rob for much more damage and bleed. Idk yet, it looks so cool that I use it anyway.

No-one expects the Talons, so I kept them in my backpocket. Rarely used them, only to kill off rats and other bothersome small fry. You can chain cast them, but that's something I only did on larger bosses when I had the opportunity (Ulcerated Tree Spirit for example).
