don't most staff pages say they can't be equipped with ash of war at all

If the page for a specific staff says it can't equip an AoW, then it can't equip an AoW. You do know how this works, right?

However, one thing that always bummed me out is that the Spinning Weapon on other staves is nowhere near as strong as the one that comes with the Carian Regal Scepter. I used CGS:SW a lot for chunks of the game. It's amazing for killing gargoyles. Stand underneath and spin under their nuts.

It was so good that it made me feel bad that I wasn't using regular weapons against those gargoyles. Also, they're susceptible to strike damage. And guess what, staves when melee'd are strike damage. Little bonk, I guess.
