tried to import some mod file but never manage to import for some reason even if I click import
alright let me copy paste couple of mod i am trying to pull in.

The app is a bit odd - and depending on when you tried to use it, it may or may not work (like if you used it today after the new patch, it likely wouldn't work as it is a version behind - similar to FOSE/SKSE/OBSE for Elder Scrolls/Fallout games.
Additionally - I believe for minor patches, for some reason I am remembering you need to effectively "re-mod" the game after the patch (but honestly - I am still in ver1.02 or 1.03 cause I am not done messing around with "broken" stuff).
In regards to the "how does this work though", I just manually installed the files. Then you use YRB to turn off some flags - so for one I had to make the Malenia Armor just model swap you into her, I (and this is if it was my first one from memory, so a bit spotty, but hope it helps):
- Downloaded the most recent YRB
- Did the needful with EAC
- Ran YRB or whatever it is to decompress ER into a crap load of folders in the main directory (mine being G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game)
- Then I downloaded the mod from Nexus
- Open the ZIP, and then if there is a sub-folder (like for the Malenia one, it was just a "Malenia" folder in the ZIP), open that sub-folder; you ultimately want to end up in a folder with others matching the ones you see in your "ELDEN RING\GAME" folder, so "chr" and "parts" for example, as you will drag-and-drop the ZIP folders into the GAME one, overwritting the matching ones (as needed, some won't prompt about overwritting).
- Launch YRB, and then load in ER which may take some time
- Make the required adjustments (traditionally on the Nexus Mod Detail page somewhere)
- Then you File > Save I believe in YRB, and then are good to launch ER offline.
EDIT: I don't like the reg.bin only updates, so I am much less versed in that - my assumption would be it may be easier to try and pop open two instances of Yapped and open your ER one and the downloaded one side-by-side and then just make the changes manually.
Am also taking a look at the Weapon one, but need to DL it first
- Move the contained files/folders from "MOD" into your ER "GAME" folder
- Move the other folders in the main "Mod Engine" folder from the ZIP archive, and then move everything except "MOD" into your "ELDEN RING" folder one hop above the "GAME" folder.
And that logic is based on how UXM (which I forgot about in my last post entirely) is here, and everything beyond the "MOD" folder is utilized to make Mod Manager 2 run. So they don't need to be with the other content.
Didn't try it though, so that is my best guess.
Edit : And sad to see the other post (just reading thread now lol) about Yapped being discontinued. But ohh well.

There is a Dark Souls 3 mod engine on the same page, and Elden Ring is under it.

Make sure to follow the steps exactly & verify the contents of your folders after each step. I found this guide the easiest to follow.

do I need something else to make the launcher works? like idk java,etc it is like that blue screen saying window protected pc. even if i click run anyways nothing pop ups
