The only one that comes even an iota close to what he's describing is Bloodborne and that's just due to jump scares and how grotesque some of the bosses look and sound.

Dark souls has horror vibes due to efficiently causing fear on some players. The fear of losing progress and the deathly design of the overall world come to a creepy result. As I said before I firmly believe Souls series encompass the feelings Silent Hill brought back in ps1 era. I loved those japanese horror games.

Click bait is the only way to create a high amount of traffic without having to do your actual job.

Besides, yeah, there's a lot of horror in it, but I would argue that for it to be survival horror, your main goal would have to be to defend and survive, while in Dark Souls and the other ones, you are searching for things to kill, so if anyone was playing a survival horror game, it's the bosses that just killed someone, just for that player to return minutes later as if nothing happens, until they finally lose.

Well, there could always be the jumpscares. Tower of Latria and the jail in Dks3 both had them. That one hollow just suddenly screaming in Dks3 was pretty funny.

Nothing beats the jump scare sound in tower of Latria, when you open the Iron Maiden's, though.

I know this is a joke thread, but I genuinely want really horrific, eerie and tense atmospheres. If there is any of that sprinkled throughout Elden Ring, even if I have to go out and find it, I will be pleasantly surprised.
