EasyAntiCheat *allegedly* bans people who use MSI Afterburner and Logitech G Hub.

First of all, i'm very happy for a Souls game having an anti-cheat system, but i'm reading that this EAC software ***might have been banning people*** for using these two programs.

I use MSI Afterburner all the time to monitor CPU/GPU temps, for my GPU OC and fan control. I have a Logitech mouse/mice and i have this Logitech Hub too.

Not gonna lie, ***if this is true***, it sucks a bit. And no, i'm not complaining about Elden Ring having an anti-cheat system, which is great, but i don't wanna get banned for using MSI Afterburner and i really would like to use it when playing ER.

***EDIT: Right now in the website of EAC (https://www.easy(dot)ac/en-us/support/) if you go in the CONTACT > TECHNICAL SUPPORT option, in the list of games there isn't Elden Ring to be selected. After the game appears in the list, i suggest anyone who uses these two programs (MSI Afterburner and Logitech G Hub) to try to contact them and ask if these two softwares are allowed to be used in a game that is protected by their system.***

That is the main topic. It's not rude to correctly assess that there was misinformation present in this alarmist post. People are reading what you wrote, and going "oh no I use MSI afterburner" and are either panicking or following-up with the comments here. All I'm doing is answering them. By OP, I am referring to the original post.

You don't have to take it personally, or keep replying, but by sounding an alarm, you have to take responsibility for the consequences e.g. people asking these questions. Also, you literally said,

EAC does not know what program is running. It only knows some process is altering the game. SO the fact its Afterburner is irrelevant...Although I doubt this is true. Although Afterburner does hook into the game to get FPS readings through Riva.

EAC is fact knows which programs are running, and blocks many programs. It is problematic for how it restricts usage of many programs.

Afterburner is relevant, and there were many cases in multiple games where innocent people got mass-banned for using MSI Afterburner and other harmless programs with overlays and injections.

Fortunately with EAC the appeal process is very easy and if you were banned falsely (e.g. because of some software conflict) they will lift your ban. I know I've been there, with different game and corsair's software ICUE for my keyboard. Unfortunately, it took quite a while for them to reply/lift ban (around 30 days, over 2 years ago, but apparently nowadays it is quicker).

There are plenty of games without support channel. Or games where appeal process exists, but appeals never approved. Let's be real, we live in the world where publishers only care about maximizing profits and abusing customer left and right.

You've said that when you've banned for using harmless program you can go and reverse the ban through support channels, like it's easy. While in reality it's often hard or even impossible. Unless you're a popular youtuber/streamer.
