I'm doing a second run right now, without bothering with exploring everything... it's boring again around the time I reach Altus Platoon. :/ Same enemies, same mechanics, nothing new compared to the start of the game.
Faram Azula made me rush through the Game at the end at my first playthrough back in my February, it was an extreme slog.
The Mountaintop of Giants were the biggest let down to be honest. All this talk about it and then theres legit nothing there but the Fire Giant.
Sometimes less is more, the repetetive re-using of bosses and normal mobs alike was not necessary even for a Game of this huge caliber.
The Game overall is still the best From Software Game up to date (atleast until Bloodborne hits PC with good framerate), but I hope Elden Ring 2 will not be so much copy paste.
I wish we would have waited another 6 months or so and they would have managed to make the last zones more enjoyable however.
Still, this Game gave me the most incredible Gaming experience in my 27 year lifespan. My favorite Developer going open World and nailing the beautiful exploration part. I dont think I'll have this magic ever again, even with a sequel or a new IP.
It's kinda like the many "fake-out endings" of LotR 3, if that makes sense. The movie isn't boring per se, but at a certain point, you just kinda want it to be over.
I'm not even new to the series. Been playing since Demon's with around 11k hours across all the games. I was expecting to be playing this for years like DS3 but instead haven't even completed it.
For me I think the problem is threefold. The game is simply too long. Around the 70 hour mark I really wanted to be playing a new build but forced myself to continue. The co-op is awful due to the constant disconnections. Finally the pvp is awful due to too many reasons to list. To be clear I like pvp as host and invader. ER's implementation and balancing though is atrocious.
So with all my favourite things being off the table, builds, challenge runs and multiplayer its hard to have any enthusiasm for the game.
This game is pretty big and the best thing you can do to not get bored is just to play something else for a week or two and than come back to it.
Exactly, thought that myself. In a way, I said to myself “Cmon this is not over yet?”
It's a bit long for a "From software" game and having already played Dark souls & cie, I expected to have more fun making new characters or NG.
That said , it is on me and only me , i choose when playing this type of game (RPG) to get all items/quests always so it take much much longer in Elden ring and therefore can be tiresome at long.
To many reuse content and all openworld actualy very the same. after some level (90% my runes i get from bosses) u no have to more runes and all dungeon lose sense.
the game its worst sols game from Miadzaki. If we not talk about long (loooooooooooooong) before hit animation. 1st 30 hours prety good. game will be fills mush better if walktrugh take 60 -70 hours
