Buff durations are so short, they hardly feel worth!
I was sorting around my equipment, trying to create an 'efficient' layout.
I don't like having more than two items in my Left and Right hands, because of Equip Load issues and sometimes it gets to be a bit of a fluster situation if I'm toggling through three items to find the thing I want to use.

So I settled on:
Right Hand 1: Bloodhound Fang
Right Hand 2: Misericorde (Flame of the Redmanes)
Left Hand 1: Sacred Seal
Left Hand 2: Sacrificial Axe (Golden Vow)

I thought it'd be neat to carry around the Sacrificial Axe as a day-to-day belt ornament for keeping my FP topped off, since I usually like to run with both hands on my sword.
And since I'm currently choosing Bloodhound Fang over the Golden Halberd (which I also like), I can use Golden Vow without taking up a Memory Stone slot.

My thought was I could whip out the Axe, double-hand it to use Golden Vow, switch to my Seal and cast my weapon enchantment of choice (like Lightning Sword or whatever), flip back to the Axe and doublehand my Bloodhound Fang and be good to go.

But Golden Vow only lasts for 45 seconds. And for 40 FP it doesn't feel like I get much value out of the cost.

I see people spamming all their buffs and eating all their consumables when they're about to try to do some mega boss burst-down cheese, but for day-to-day it doesn't seem particularly valuable.

I felt like using buffs helped in my fight with Morgott but I haven't really messed with them too much.

I think buffs are useful for standard encounters, but it isn't really worth stacking more than two unless you're fighting a boss. I usually go for one buff to boost resistance against the enemy's damage type, and then Flame Grant Me Strength. If the combined FP cost of the buffs is more than one flask's worth, then I'd say it isn't worth using all of them.

There is a Talisman that increases buff duration by 30% I believe. The Old Man Talisman. If you are trying to use buffs for more than a boss fight I would suggest it. Yes, buffs don't last long but I think that is intended so people don't feel like they have to have buffs to do things. It is a tough spot to balance as a game dev. WoW classic showed us how crazy buffs can feel mandatory for thing if not balanced out right. Though I do believe a 2-3 minute duration before talisman would be better for the buffs.

It's because they want you to respawn grind areas over and over again. That's what they think is a challenge.
