What should I do/where should I go before Stormveil Castle?

I've fought my way through Stormveil castle to the big open area with all the ballistas and I'm in over my head. I keep getting lost and losing my xp so it's probably not a good place for me to grind right now. I think I might leave and come back when I'm stronger.

Any tips on where to go before I come back? I have already defeated Bloodhound Knight Darriwil, Beastman of Farum Azula and Margit.

Kill stuff. I'm being serious here, kill stuff and get better at the game. If I remember correctly, you want to be around lvl 50-65 in Stormveil.

So I'd recommend going around exploring, killing stuff, getting better gear and levling up.

There are guides on YT if you want more clear directions. But that's what I'd do.

if you can make it halfway through stormveil, you can make it all the way.

that said, if you truly feel like you need ot come back: all of limgrave, and then south limgrave are all before stormveil.

You can explore all of Limgrave and also all of the Weeping Peninsula to the south. Weeping Peninsula fits in between Limgrave and Stormveil level/progression-wise.

Well actually Weeping Peninsula is scaled to be easier than Limgrave. It's a leftover from when FS was planning to have the player start there.

But yes, hit those areas. There's a very fun sword for low levels down at the southern-most tip of the map. One of the dungeons in the Weeping Peninsula also holds the Rusted Anchor, one of the best pure-Strength weapons in at least the first half of the game, if not the whole thing.
