So I'd recommend going around exploring, killing stuff, getting better gear and levling up.
There are guides on YT if you want more clear directions. But that's what I'd do.
that said, if you truly feel like you need ot come back: all of limgrave, and then south limgrave are all before stormveil.
But yes, hit those areas. There's a very fun sword for low levels down at the southern-most tip of the map. One of the dungeons in the Weeping Peninsula also holds the Rusted Anchor, one of the best pure-Strength weapons in at least the first half of the game, if not the whole thing.
