Dung Eater Questline and Boggart's fate

Okay, so I freed Poopman from his gaol and intended to give him Seluvis's juice (which I didn’t, since Seluvis is already dead). Instead, I decided to pursue Poopman's quest. However, right after I killed him by the moat, that giant crab came out of nowhere and killed me before I could speak to Bro, so I failed to acquire a seedbed. I respawned, went back to the moat, only to find no dead body there, and Boggart was missing. I then went to the Roundtable, talked to Poopman, went to his gaol, and fed him a seedbed (until “Leave” was the only prompt shown).

However, I checked the map and saw that Bro is still in Liurnia selling his crabs, but no special dialogue appeared. So is this a bug, or is this how the quest is supposed to be? I’m confused because I didn’t see any guides mentioning this.

Hmm that´s odd. Boggard should be dead if you have defeated the dungeater. Usually it goes like this:

1. You free the dungeater
2. You read the message in the rounddtable hold where he wants to fight you in the moat.
3. You go to the moat and Boggard should be tied to a chair.
4. You talk to Boggard until he dies and drops all his stuff (which you should collect immediately). His death will trigger the dungeater invasion.
5. Dungeater spawns as an invader and you fight him.
6. After you have beaten him you travel to his prison cell in the sewer and either give him seed beds or feed him seluvis potion.

Note: Don´t progress Rannis quest if you want the dungeater puppet otherwise Seluvis will be dead as you have found out already.

Also, kill the crab before you fight the Dungeater so it won´t annoy you.

Yes, I completed steps 1 to 3. I didn't get a chance to speak to Boggart because Dungeater spawned first.

Huh?? That´s even more odd. This shouldn´t be possible. He only spawns after expiring all dialoge with boggart who is tied to a chair.
