Do the summoning pool things "work"?

I'm sitting at 160 and figured I'd try it, presumably so people could summon to help with some boss somewhere, but it doesn't ever seem to work and I'm not sure people even use them.

Not even sure how to use them myself really, just send out my 'signal' and wait, but nothing seems to happen.

I also see people just using the old "I'll put down my sign at boss X for you" when people ask for help so I presume that means they couldn't find or couldn't use the pool thing to get help either.

It still works. Got summoned a few times in the last few days, tho it will mostly crash game and PC, but at least it still works. Some days are just 'slow', and many people have stopped playing it, or at least a lot less than before. Try putting your sign down at Maliketh (by the summon pool statue) Malenia, Mohg or dlc bosses fog walls.

Hm, I was kind of hoping for the long wanted 'summon from anywhere' type of system where whatever boss people struggle with, they can call for help.

LOL sure but if u r not getting results you have that alternative. Either way, like I sad, some days are just a bit dead....

they're the best way to get summoned, make sure you use the near/far option. i have no idea if the lower level base game is still as active, but i'm getting summoned the DLC boss pools and endgame bosses pretty often still

Servers are pure crap and broken is why , this is why i kinda quit.

I'm level 170 and get summoned frequently for PvE, although time of day and the day itself does influence it. Weekends are typically the best time etc. I use the Tarnished's Furled Finger in front of Malenia's boss room which can take anywhere between 5-20 minutes. For everything else I just use the Golden Effigy with near/far selected and this rarely takes more than a few minutes at the particular time of day I tend to do that.

A tip for you, you could stop sending your signal and resend it every 5 minutes or so to see if that speeds up the process. I do that with both the Furled Finger and Golden Effigy as it seems to help whenever I'm waiting longer than usual.

2 hours ago seems like a tough time. I've wondered the same thing with my lvl 150. The day after I was here, complaining, I got all the summoning I could ask for. Try for more "popular hours" and keep track of your best play times.

Most times when people can't summon/invade/be summoned it's because

-their weapon upgrade level and rune level are not a reasonable combination (like +25 weapon but level 50 or something)
-they forgot they have a password set

The fact is the population of the game is lower these days and the game is huge, people are spread out across a wide level range, people playing single player or offline, or playing mods

This stuff, too.

Maybe check your multiplayer settings in the options. Some stuff may be disabled without you realizing.

check the summon pools, see if yours are disabled for w/e reason, but it should also be noted that at 160 the people asking for help are mostly at end game, so its a few places either way, if you wanted a wider net, a lower level would do.

it depends on the boss. i am summoned frequently for most of the dlc bosses and some of the endgame bosses in the base game. use a golden effigy to access multiple summoning pools and therefore get summoned faster certain times of day are better i find for mornings its after breakfast so like 9 to 11 for the afternoons its anytime after lunch so like 12:30 to 5
for evenings after dinner to about 8 pm.
