I actually agree. Fellow people of culture with SUBLIME standards plays Elden Ring and other souls enjoying the amazing gameplay while being able to understand and put together the history.
For the rest of people trashing Elden Ring lore and history here you have

Garfies, only.
spat out my drink
Premise = the pantheon has gone bad (the Golden Order/Heaven), something is broken (the Elden Ring/Sun Wukong) and the protag is sent to remake what is broken.
The plot = you go and kill the major bosses that hold the MacGuffin and together combined you remake the thing.
The endings: you choose to remake the cycle or embrace the unknown.
Most of background stories are told via monster codexes or items.
The primary difference is that ER is more of power fantasy/hero's journey while Wukong is subversive (good gods are now evil).
I am surprised that there are people who complain about ER's story while praising Wukong's. I wonder if people do understand Black Myth Wukong's story because it is kind of an anti-JttW at its core.
Out of all Soulslikes by Fromsoft, Bloodborne is probably the only one that somewhat makes sense due to its world building, at least with the blood disease and the church using it initially to heal, but then it turned everyone into a monster.
All other games are smoke to be absorbed by some youtuber and then release it as content for clueless people to try and understand what the heck they just played myself and many others included.
But it's their thing and we all know what we're signing up for at this point.
Souls games are just hero journey told over and over again with different endings.
Man, sit down with your attempts at sarcasm.
I can play whatever I want, I'm not bothered by any of these games and I stand by what I've said.
You can justify it as much as you want: a "hero's journey" - sure. You can say that about any game ever.
Does that make it any better in terms of quality story telling?
No.
Does it mean you can't enjoy it?
No.
I've said in my previous comment which was a response to OP.
People know what they sign up for when they go into these games at this point.
that's what they were. just good friends. bros help each other out sometimes. it's not gay
Yeah. Okay. Good job China. You sold a game to yourself.
Edit- Bro....you have 23 pages of posts in a single year? Holy crap dude...you need a job, and to go outside. Make a damn friend or something. Jesus... Here have an e-hug because now I feel really bad for you.
