What is the best stat for a longsword?

I currently have 9 dex and 50 str.
Is the long sword best at 40/40 like In dark souls or some other spread?

Depends on your build, how you forge the weapon, etc..

Not sure on min/maxing (depends on your level), but you can never go wrong with quality on a longsword.

Numerically full strenght will outperform everything else for a meta build. It's disappointingly simple, I know.

Once you get into the 300's quality with 60 STR/DEX outpaces it.

My main character uses the longsword, I've done all the experiments doable to squeeze more damage out of it.

C str D dex so, str focused, unless you plan on using a diff wep scaling.

The Broadsword scales best with STR, especially if you change its affinity to Heavy.

Especially with the defense buffs being so much better than the casting speed of Dex.
