I once said I believe people in this community hate it when you call out bad game design, especially for boss fights, because they feel like you're taking away their accomplishments.
You pretty much confirm it with this. Fragile egos boo hoo.
The criss-cross slash is slower (the second swipe is slower, first swipe there's no change), so you can actually roll through it easily.
He tarries longer doing nothing after some attacks. Like, the one where he does a quick double cross with his sword, he stays there long enough for you to punish it where as before you just had to wait for his next combo.
I'm pretty sure he also tarries a bit longer after the bloodflame swipe.
Those are the ones i noticed.
Can't comment about the damage. I'm playing with no scadu blessings and i got one shot before the patch by basically everything and i still get one shot after the patch, for whatever that's worth.
All they had to do was nerf the cross slash combo a tiny bit, like literally just make the second slash come out a few frames faster so it was consistent to dodge both in one roll if you timed it right.
The fight is more or less easy now. To think they would take it so far.
or abusing sekiro tear
got it
If you are playing at the limit too with melee only, the changes they made to uncharged R2 speed make the expression of skill way higher now. Instead of having the options of ash of war, 1 R1, or 2 R1s for most weapons, you now have ash of war, 1 R1, 1 uncharged R2, 1 charged R2, or 2 R1s. You can do so much more combat optimisation in the fight now.
