If you game at 1080p, enabling DSR forces the internal resolution up to 4K, processes the image with edge enhancement, then downscales it to 1080p. It's basically a better looking version of SSAA (Super Scaled Antialiasing) with about the same performance hit. Elden Ring seems to sync it's network ticks with framerate so using a postprocessing technique that causes worse frametimes will also cause worse ping.
Wait, are you saying it's on by default?
how would elden ring patch add that? you're not making much sense
