I did it! but still no joy
After 5 (FIVE) evenings i finally killed consort Radahn. Used medium shield, blood great thursting sword. Parried - it really helped with damage. Med roll. No great shield. No cheese.

AND I FELT NOTHING.

No joy. No relif. Just emptiness.

IMHO Radahn 2 phase needs tuning. Not outright nerf but tuning. Reduce amount of AoE. Slow down clone attacks a little bit. And give Mequella a haircut. As melee you are forced to stay close. And you barely can see anything while standing up close.

Worst part - i killed him because i kind of got lucky. He didnt do crazy mixups, or some nasty attacks that i still dont know how to dodge. FromSoftware, please dont do like this anymore.

By Marikas Tits, what a ♥♥♥♥ show...

The joy of beating DS1 for the first time will never be obtained again. Don't let it get you down but as you beat more and more of these games the less hype you feel

IMHO boss fight should be this cool duels, epic fights. If some build allows me to delete boss in less then are minute - i consider this to be a cheese. It sucks all role playing element out of it.

On the contrary, you are removing your brain from boss encounters in favour of muscle-memory. Winning in a shorter time is also a measure of skill. I would argue that defeating a boss using the game's mechanics within say, an hour is a better indication of skill (not to mention common sense) than spending 5 days placing artificial restraints and losing repeatedly. I agree, 5 days doing the same thing is tedious at best. Not sure how you expected that to be fun.
Aside from ashes, people often go into a fight with the wrong gear. Even though they know they might get fried or frozen or whatever, they refuse to equip talismans and such to protect against these elements. Am I supposed to be impressed? Baffled maybe. Especially when ER does not penalize you for weight in inventory unless it is equipped. This is to allow you to properly prepare for each boss. Somehow people think they are good because they don't prepare for fights and losing to the same boss day after day is rewarding. Sure you may have won not using ashes but you lost like 500 times until muscle memory mercifully saved you from further anguish.

Using OP meta to beat bosses not very intellectual eather.

And i am not talking about talismans.

Overall i disagree with "just respec bro" notion because:

Game gives limited amout of larval tears. Yes, game gives you good amount but: you can miss the, And they still limited.
Re-rolling stats is not focus of the game - its just side option. This is not the AC6 - game build around ability to rebuild your mech as much as you want.

I belive that any dicently made character should be able to beat any boss with choosen weapon.

Problem with Consort Radahn is that he really pushes player to eather tank with shield or destory him with sone DPS monster build.

well, at this point is possible to speak about one of "too difficult" traits - situations when you are spending too much time for achieving the goal, so you can't feel any joy after that. Nine hours? Five days? That is pretty unhealthy amount of time for killng a game boss. Even a final boss.

Nah it's fine. It's that beating the boss is not enough. You actually need to feel like you learned something, improved your skills and overcame the challenge. It's harder to learn "hard" bosses but it's also much more rewarding. I think it's mostly some of us treat these games mostly as action games and the other community treats them as mostly stat based RPGs. That is, improving you as a player vs improving your player character. I get little to no satisfaction from the later scenario.

Its AC6 "just use tank treads and miniguns/zimmermans" all over again. But when you use OP build game loses big chunk of fun.

Radahn needs a buff yeah. Pathetic we can beat him in 1-5 evenings. Should take years tbh.

cool story bro , now go touch grass.

I somewhat see your point. I mean I felt huuuge joy and excitement when I got my first kill after about 6 hours of attempts, but I agree that phase 2 needs a little bit of adjustment. In particular theres 1 very veeery long attack combo that could use some tuning down, and also the punish windows could be juuust a little bigger to make the fight feel more fair. I see why many people resort to greatshield poke this guy because ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, he's a HUGE skill check.

Dont tell me you actually think this is intentional. Its just silly. Are massive lag drop when Radahn does his nuke on phase transtion intendet too then?

I think what's funny is that "it's intentional" means it's okay. Like if I punch you in the face it's okay if I meant it.

This has nothing to do with whether something is good or not. Like, it's not even nuanced because vamirez thinks these discussions should just be about whether there's a solution vs whether that thing is interesting.

What's funny is that I think there's definitely strategic point to making the player's controls prone to error. Elden Ring; however, is a game where enemies get dynamic animation canceling while also putting players in situations to react immediately vs buffer rhythms... I know how the game works, I think some of that is intentional and kind of stupid.

It's the game trying to "have it both ways." I absolutely think it's intentional, intentionally bad in some cases. In other cases not so much. There WAS a conversation here, but again some people really think they're the only folks who think about how to be good at the game vs whether the game doesn't take the player for granted.

It's a case where I absolutely think quality of life requests are what this game deserves, it doesn't really describe how I feel about them. I think if you see something and feel like it's not interesting, there's no game better I can think of that earns that dismissal from players like ER.

Vamirez, you said some nonsense about me accusing you of wanting to be someone's dad, see how you so so badly want to shift the conversation to "how to play the game." That's all you know, you insipid cretin lmfao, anything else is just your bad faith about whether Elden Ring is "nuanced" or not. Okay, dad lol.

Hm, the guy calling me out by name repeatedly (I wonder if he is someone we know...) and not stating correctly what I'm talking about a few times, and the same guy who wrote - and this is the weirdest part - that I would want to be OP's dad, to which I answered "I can be your dad, too", after which he went on a weird tangent about his ACTUAL dad (?) and then proceeded to also write more than once that I had started that whole "dad" thing (why?) has deemed to call me an "insipid cretin lmfao" after I spoke a horrible truth - which is that the heal Torrent confirmation and similar jank is in the game... dun dun duuuhh... on purpose. My fault, I know from prior experience that some folks react to that very badly for whatever reason.

And now he's banned. I didn't even report him.
*shrug*

All is well that ends well I guess.

Ye honestly it was the lights that annoyed me as well, it didn't take long to learn the first phase enough to consistently get to the 2nd as you can clearly see what he's doing, but my GOD when it came to the 2nd phase I just summoned the mimic so it could distract him and didn't feel bad at all.

Did you like the ending?

Honestly it felt incomplete. Unlike Dark Souls 3 DLCs. SOTS just ended. What is going to be with the world? What impact Mequella not becoming a god has on Lands Between? I dont know.
