List of good weapons from the dlc
These are what I've found are decent in my experience, anyone got more to add? We can create a repository here.

Great katana - can accept lots of infusions, running and crouching r2 is a quick poke. OK damage, possibly gugs and other colossals are a better choice due to damage.

Blacksteel great hammer - massive poise damage, has unique guard counter, which is more for looks than anything. Very short range, you'll miss often

Ancient Meteoric greatsword - amogus. L2 x2 deals massive damage, and the first L2 dash in is very good for exploiting attack windows. Moveset and damage are good for its weapon category.

Backhand blade - 2 ultimate cheese pvp aow,but not very useful for pve bosses. Good with a bleed build. R2 has dash in and deals massive poise damage. Possibly best weapon in dlc.

Euphoria hands down. Not just a unique ash of war that requires you to charge it with normal melee attacks, fully charged you can cast a holy beam doing massive amounts of damage.
Euporia is a very interesting weapon, but let's be real, it's trash tier. For the difficulty of charging up its skill, it doesn't do anywhere near enough damage to pay that work off. It's a weapon I so badly want to like, but they need to make a serious balance pass over that skill.

You want to know the best part of it?

TLDR: Damage dealt to Those Who Live in Death will have no such effect AKA no charging the twinblade with holy energy. This basically is like the 97% of holy vulnerable monsters.....skeletons (bird, dragons, beastman and the putrescent knight) dont charge the weapon....lol.

But i agree. You get this weapon after a lot of parkour nearly the last boss and actually having to deal with a scumbag giant scorpion, holy snipers and a holy lion warrior......it is flashy and funny but they had everything in place to make it the most powerful weapon of the whole game, making actual sense.

Will see what happens when you dual-wield them! I basically started a fourth clear to get another one.

Be careful what you call trash tier I had to solo mesmer, renalla, and mistress of the bud with throwing daggers just because popular streamers were calling those trash tier and I objectively knew they were incorrect....for pve. For pvp yeah fair there are way easier options.
Gaius' Spear (the one you get from his remembrance) is kind of the best weapon for the final boss overall, and prob one of the best in the game, blood-infused. Ridiculous buildup, fast moveset, greatspear running heavy, shield pokes, pierce damage and can be infused with ashes of war. This thing is insane.

Put some respect on Claws of Night
they do a lot fo R1 damage compared to other claws. they also do 0 poise/stagger damage having that ranged R2 compared to say Raptor talons R2

fun claws tho.

mesmers throwing spear is fun as are the horned great curved swords with that giant aoe storm AOW attack.

My brother in Mohg do you know that both heavies and skill of the claws can headshot-stagger? Against bosses they deal insane dmg + bleed, against smaller opponents and PvP they headshot. Yeah, a very good dex weapon, and has magic dmg for those enemies who resist slash. It is easier to say what weapons of the dlc are disappointing bc the most are so good!

For pve all Smith or ranged weapons are quite strong and I would lump in claws of night into that category. It also benefits from being one of the pvp viable options.

Having the flexibility to punish certain boss attacks from range helps negate the, you only attack on your turn theory.

There are very few actuall thrash tier weapons in Elden Ring.
- IVORY SICKLE would be one of them.

Just a normal dagger than can not be infused , and can not be enchanted and cant do anything.

Most of the weapons many people call "trash" are actually like B- Tier and good enough to clear the game

Shotgun crossbow can instantly inflict any status you want in arena even sleep. Definately very strong for getting in free melee swipes.

More accurately however there are weapons that have actual incentives to use then like Smith weapons and then you have like a weather straight sword with no incentive to use.

These things are not the same by any metric imaginable.

But I do think that lack of imagination is actually the problem.
Dane’s punch arts was the only dlc weapon i thought were hella fun to use. i put bleed on them and they proc quick because of how often they hit

rellana’s twin swords was also pretty good and i liked the cirque weapons a lot but they kind of suck damage-wise

edit: i forgot to mention the death knight’s twin axes, i love these things. i could put up with the moveset if the damage was better but unfortunately the dmg kinda sucks so they don’t get used either

nothing from the dlc outperformed dual omenkiller cleavers from the base game so despite trying almost everything i pretty much just stuck with those

ive lived in raptor talons since 2022. i like their move set and the look cool :)
maybe i need to give the claws of night another go the ranged R2 didn't seem great when i tried them out :)

yeah i have found most of the dlc weaps to be pretty amazing. wish the smith script daggers did more its basically just an unlimited bubble popper replacement :P

Well Claws of Night heavies are really good in PvP when keeping distance or chasing someone, or in PvE when spamming skill on big bosses or just keeping distance. Throws are kinda less impressive in PvE, true, because most enemies have so much forward momentum they don't give you any space. However, CoN have one more unique feature - it is a pure dex weapon, and their magical damage SCALES with dex, unlike magic- or frost-infused Raptor claws
