TLDR: Damage dealt to Those Who Live in Death will have no such effect AKA no charging the twinblade with holy energy. This basically is like the 97% of holy vulnerable monsters.....skeletons (bird, dragons, beastman and the putrescent knight) dont charge the weapon....lol.
But i agree. You get this weapon after a lot of parkour nearly the last boss and actually having to deal with a scumbag giant scorpion, holy snipers and a holy lion warrior......it is flashy and funny but they had everything in place to make it the most powerful weapon of the whole game, making actual sense.
Will see what happens when you dual-wield them! I basically started a fourth clear to get another one.
My brother in Mohg do you know that both heavies and skill of the claws can headshot-stagger? Against bosses they deal insane dmg + bleed, against smaller opponents and PvP they headshot. Yeah, a very good dex weapon, and has magic dmg for those enemies who resist slash. It is easier to say what weapons of the dlc are disappointing bc the most are so good!
Having the flexibility to punish certain boss attacks from range helps negate the, you only attack on your turn theory.
i'm playing bloodborne over here, headshoting human bosses and staggering them like i just parried them
There are very few actuall thrash tier weapons in Elden Ring.
- IVORY SICKLE would be one of them.
Just a normal dagger than can not be infused , and can not be enchanted and cant do anything.
Most of the weapons many people call "trash" are actually like B- Tier and good enough to clear the game
More accurately however there are weapons that have actual incentives to use then like Smith weapons and then you have like a weather straight sword with no incentive to use.
These things are not the same by any metric imaginable.
But I do think that lack of imagination is actually the problem.
rellana’s twin swords was also pretty good and i liked the cirque weapons a lot but they kind of suck damage-wise
edit: i forgot to mention the death knight’s twin axes, i love these things. i could put up with the moveset if the damage was better but unfortunately the dmg kinda sucks so they don’t get used either
nothing from the dlc outperformed dual omenkiller cleavers from the base game so despite trying almost everything i pretty much just stuck with those
maybe i need to give the claws of night another go the ranged R2 didn't seem great when i tried them out :)
yeah i have found most of the dlc weaps to be pretty amazing. wish the smith script daggers did more its basically just an unlimited bubble popper replacement :P
Well Claws of Night heavies are really good in PvP when keeping distance or chasing someone, or in PvE when spamming skill on big bosses or just keeping distance. Throws are kinda less impressive in PvE, true, because most enemies have so much forward momentum they don't give you any space. However, CoN have one more unique feature - it is a pure dex weapon, and their magical damage SCALES with dex, unlike magic- or frost-infused Raptor claws
