List of good weapons from the dlc
These are what I've found are decent in my experience, anyone got more to add? We can create a repository here.

Great katana - can accept lots of infusions, running and crouching r2 is a quick poke. OK damage, possibly gugs and other colossals are a better choice due to damage.

Blacksteel great hammer - massive poise damage, has unique guard counter, which is more for looks than anything. Very short range, you'll miss often

Ancient Meteoric greatsword - amogus. L2 x2 deals massive damage, and the first L2 dash in is very good for exploiting attack windows. Moveset and damage are good for its weapon category.

Backhand blade - 2 ultimate cheese pvp aow,but not very useful for pve bosses. Good with a bleed build. R2 has dash in and deals massive poise damage. Possibly best weapon in dlc.

Bloodfiend's Arm is still kinda ridiculous even after the fix, so that one.

This list is quite small, you have martial arts, beast claw, the new bows, the new whip, every throwaway weapon, swift spear, like we are talking a literal 100 weapon and most of them are amazing.

Put some respect on Claws of Night

Hot take probably but I don't really like any of the new weapons
And at worst they feel janky like Backhand Blades running attack, it's like ice-skating around while taking three non-advancing steps.
I wonder if they're going to nerf the stagger values of the new weapons or buff main game weapons to the same standard

Well there are some pretty good weapons in the DLC

Bloodfiends Arm still after nerf probably #1
it now does ~ 20% less overall damage and has ~20 less bleed proc.
while this ofc weakens the weapon it is still insane.

But also

- Falx curved swords..... you can pull of like 7000 damage (including bleed proc) in a single charged ash of war
if you have the correct talismans

- Backhand blade simply due to the iframe ash
this can also be used with PvE !

- Ancient Meteoric Greatsword
Pretty insane combos possible that do massive damage

However overall i think most weapons are a side grade to the base game weapons.
The top base game weapons like : Serpent Hunter , Bloodhounds Fang or Blashpemous Blade are still at the very top including DLC weapons.

Euphoria hands down. Not just a unique ash of war that requires you to charge it with normal melee attacks, fully charged you can cast a holy beam doing massive amounts of damage.

Also the swords of Light and Darkness. Why?

Thats the Light one! i let you discover the Darkness counterpart.

Euporia is a very interesting weapon, but let's be real, it's trash tier. For the difficulty of charging up its skill, it doesn't do anywhere near enough damage to pay that work off. It's a weapon I so badly want to like, but they need to make a serious balance pass over that skill.

It's fair to have an opinion but objectively speaking the dlc weapons are destroying pvp and pve content.

What you might be referring to is how the new weapons aren't L2 sticks like blasphemous blade, but to be honest 1 is enough.

Nice assumption lol
But the problem is that they are just powercreeped R1 machines, the stagger levels on them are crazy even for the faster ones like Beast Claws just outright stunlocking PvE

Yeah the DLC weapons are good, but in a way that makes them just go on another level from base game gear.

And if you want to know my favorite Ash of War, it's Spectral Javelin
Second comes Sacred Blade since it's a great buff to R1 gameplay.

they do a lot fo R1 damage compared to other claws. they also do 0 poise/stagger damage having that ranged R2 compared to say Raptor talons R2

fun claws tho.

mesmers throwing spear is fun as are the horned great curved swords with that giant aoe storm AOW attack.

So the problem is that they are too good.

Seems like a good problem to have for an expansion, if we are talking minor animation creep.

Like don't forget for every person like me who can destroy arena fights or beat dlc content 7 times in a row.

There is everyone else still struggling with Radahn that need every advantage they can get.
