I used it early on, but I stopped using it after about level 100. It loses its usefulness when you actually get the levels and it becomes a liability.

I use a scorpion charm on my INT build, the negation debuff isn't a big deal, it's just the trade-off on soreseals is not worth it at all in the end game.

It depends entirely on your build and ability. It's not worth it if you have no way to dodge, avoid, block or mitigate hits. If you don't take that much damage tho', can be worth it.

So the question involves looking at the game's soft caps for the relevant stats and determining if the 5 points the Soreseal is giving you is still worth the extra 15% damage you're taking. Because stats in this game don't have linear growth, a stat up at STR 20 has much more impact than a stat up at STR 70. For example, if you're already at the softcap for Vigor of 40, the extra 5 points is giving you far less HP than if you were at 35 and using the Soreseal to reach 40. Generally speaking, above 40 Vigor the Crimson Amber talismans give you more HP for the slot without increasing the damage.

Same thing applies to the damage stats, STR and DEX. Soft cap for them, to my knowledge, is 60 and you get marginal increases past that to 80, where further stat increases provide next to no actual benefit. So if you're using the Soreseal past STR or DEX 60, you're getting a very minimal increase to damage for a substantial amount of extra damage being taken. At that point you're better off swapping the talisman out for an Heirloom talisman, or one of the more build-specific buffs like Blue Dancer or Winged Sword.

Add to this that enemies and bosses in later areas do substantially more damage, making that 15% extra damage you're taking much bigger than at lower levels with lower incoming damage. Personally, I wouldn't use the Soreseals past Leyndell unless you're trying to do some kind of try-hard challenge.

Sorceals give a big increase in Stats, wich themselves gives a nice boost to Hard Defence at a hard cost of Soft Defence.

Aka: you take less Damage in Lingrave but pass Liurna you will start taking more damage. In the DLC, where Soft Defence is King, you really do not want to use these.

once you hit the softcaps it quickly loses its value. There are better talisman set ups for pretty much whatever you are going for. Also, use Godricks greatrune and runearc if you really need the stat bonuses

That's a 15% damage reduction for +20 levels in melee build (STR/DEX/VIG/END)

If you use the sorseal early in the game, the 20 levels of these stats can make the difference between something inaccessible and something accessible (weapon use, shield use, roll weight for the same setup armor)

The more you level up, the less relevant the 20 stats become.

15% damage reduction is often not a big deal.

Resistence soft check is 60% for the dlc if you want to rock a seal and can compensate for the resistence loss go for it.

You can use the shield tailsman I think that will negate the sorseal damage increase

only use it until you hit around lvl 80 - 100, after that the stat gains arent that impactful and the extra damage is way too much
