Found a way to beat the Furnace Golem near the south coast

Its a simple strategy, so it probably been discovered, but i'll post in case it helps a player or two. The issue with him for me was he knows I coming long before I was in range to use pest threads on his ankles, so he spammed me with his fire balls before i could close the gap.

The easiest way to get in close is to equip a talisman that boosts fire damage negation, eat the liver food item that further boost that and use Torrent to close the gap. If he stays alive, stay on him, but if you like me and have him die, do you best to stay behind the Golem's feet and use Pest Thread spell or a really strong weapon until he falls over, jump when Golem tries stomp (at first thought I you could only jump the flames on Torrent, but you can do it on foot as well)

The two items boosting you fire damage negation can let you tank his grab and being put in his fire bucket/head if you have good amount of Vigor (mine is at 60 and was a little of little over 2/3, maybe more, when i got grab and JUST survived the fire bath he gave me)
