What happens with Stone Sheathed Sword on NG+ and so on?
Say I got a Stone Sheathed Sword and converted it to Sword of Darkness on NG, when I go to NG+, and pick up a new Stone Sheathed Sword, is my Sword of Darkness locked in at that point? Can I choose between which sword to convert on subsequent NG or is it locked as soon as you enter NG?

i got 2nd stone sword and made it into sword of light. so now i have both sword of light and sword of dark. You should be able to convert it to sword of dark or light in new game +.

But does it give you the option to still convert your other sword? Just curious if I have two swords of dark in NG+, can I individually convert them to sword of light?

You can get a new one every NG+. The first time you interact with a shrine you will loot the sheathed sword after that you have two options but just one sword, making a NG+ new cycle vital if you want both light and darkness.

Lets say you use the shrine at Ruins of Unte (throw a furnace pot to activate the wicker man blocking the ruins and shrine entrance) to loot the Sheathed sword ALWAYS, after that you want to go to the rot infested area near the church of the Bud and make your way killing all the red pest to find a invisible bridge (bloodstains and floating messages will help you spotting it) leading to a light shrine, THIS WILL ALWAYS BE A LIGHT SHRINE.

Now darkness. You have to visit the Scorpion River Catacombs and hop on top of a spike trap to spot the darkness shrine and as we did with light before THIS WILL ALWAYS BE A DARK SHRINE.

I hope that helps!

About to get my second Sword of Light now!

Got it, so it sounds like whatever you ended up with your sword at the end of NG, it will be locked to that once you start NG+, in otherwords, if you maybe forgot to transform your sword at the end of NG, you are out of luck in NG+ and have to make due to with original stone sheathed sword.

Yup! Well....you can actually end with one light and use the Scorpion River shrine to turn it into dark but im sure we agree thats a waste. You will always end the NG with a shrine up to use.

Something worth mentioning is that you can go back to any corresponding ruin (Light or Dark) to transform your light or dark variation at whim. Bring Dark sword to Light, get light. Bring light sword to dark, get dark.

It's going to be locked once you transfer to NG+ until you get back to the DLC, but once you get a second stone sword, you can have two of whatever flavor you like and change them whenever it seems like.
