Can't get Anna to join Jolan

So in my first playthrough of the DLC i played blind, even played offline to not get spoilered in any way. I was sure to miss something and the worst thing for me that i missed was Annas Puppet. I got Jolans Ash but didn't found Anna. When i startet my second playthrough i was googling some Stuff "you don't want to miss" and found out about Annas Puppet. So i played to the point where Anna's Puppet is lying but even with Jolan equipped it won't work. I finished Ymirs Questline and gave Jolan the other Lense cuz i also wanted the Sword and i thought "Well im having her ash so it will work" i thought maybe Jolan just needs to die for Anna's Puppet to work. But i tried and tried again i won't work. I hope its a bug or that im missing a cruicale step, becuase im not fond of ending the main game, replay it a 6th time to get to the dlc the third time and than play all the way to Anna again.... does anyone has the same Issue or Tipps? Oh and Jolan is already +10

No idea but honestly you aren't missing anything as they get wrecked pretty fast and don't do much damage either. They can proc bleed but if you have mimic I wouldn't waste my time worrying about them, When you went to the top of that tower by going through the shaman village and went up to Anna, you never got the prompt to join the two of them? Jolan has to be in inventory not the chest.

If I'm remembering correctly, to get this to work I had to go to the puppet before the Anna invasion and trigger some message by examining it. This is off the top of my head, I could be wrong.

Giving Jolan the Iris of Grace will reward you with the Swordhand of Night Jolan. When you reach the puppet you will be asked to combine the spirits together, claiming this spirit summon, if you refuse to combine you will not get both as ashes. You can still go there and check.
Giving Jolan the Iris of Occultation instead, will reward you with the Sword of Night and ending her questline there.

yeah i did that but its kinda not working for me i guess i just need to do a third run by now

thanks i already did both of the option but the combining stuff dont trigger

yes never got the prompt, i have jolan with me and i was there before the fight with anna and after the fight with ymir again, i think i just need to do the third round
