If you actually want a ray tracing experience that is relevant try something like Cyberpunk 2077, Metro Exodus (granted night is too bright, only issue there), Alan Wake 2, and uh... I can't think of many more because most actually quite suck.
I know there are some others with mods to improve the ray tracing like Hogwarts that might be worth a look, assuming you have a powerful enough computer.
i think visually its very much worth it, if u can take the ssao pop in. its tied to the lod, and thats by default terrible. you can mod the lod of some things, but for example grass is hardcoded and u will always have the pop in.
that said ive dealt with those issues and very much enjoyed rt on my 2nd pt for over 200h now.
really? i feel like it hardly makes a difference at all visually. you get a tiny bit of barley noticable extra AO grounding the grass, in a lot of areas it makes aspects of the game even darker, and the water reflections are honestly almost the same and some softer shadows here and there.
Froms old engine isn't built to take full advantage of raytracing.
the performance hit for that tiny difference oof... i mean sure the games locked at 60 anyway so if you have a 4090 you may as well run with it on :P 100% not worth if its taking you below 60 lol
