what exaclty are the gaols

the description for anna and jolans ashes confused me so much, gaols are jails its just old english or whatever. but their description states that both were raised and trained inside one of them despite every gaol we come across in the dlc essentially being a death camp where the hornsent butchered the shamans and other lesser beings/criminals. have i missed anything or what

Jails but to be more precise in the case of Shadowlands where they merge corpses into jars "content".

I just wanted to let you know, gaols means jail in old language :3

Yeah idk about the lore, but who knows if the gaol mentioned is one of the jar ones to begin with.

We do see other prison like structures here and there after all.
