ive seen clips and in wiki on how the ash of war has 2nd animation upon further casting while being able to coat weapons in fire, but when i do it, its just the sweep animation and no coating, despite meeting the stat requirement, weapon still no coating like other elements

You have to do the heavy attack after the initial flame spew

R2 immediately after the flaming strike will coat the blade in flame.
